|
Alec was amazing in God's Own Country |
I know that you probably fell deeply in love with him after his outstandingly convincing and radiant performance in
God's Own Country, one of the most brilliant movies in recent ten years, just as we sure did, and now you're gonna see some more of wonderful
Alec Secareanu! He will join ultimate acting legend
Imelda Staunton and
Carla Juri in
Romola Garai's directing debut.
Contained horror movie OUTSIDE, based on Romola Garai's own script,
brings the tale of a young male refugee traumatised by war who is
brought to a dilapidated house in order to care for a woman and her
dying mother. Falling in love with the younger woman he begins to
suspect she is enslaved to a demon and resolves to fight the creature
and rescue the woman he loves... but all is not what it seems.
TARON EDGERTON TO SING
ELTON JOHN'S SONGS IN HIS 'ROCKETMAN' MUSICAL BIOPIC
|
Taron Edgerton has the most amazing voice |
Paramount has, meanwhile, confirmed that
Taron Edgerton will use his unbelievable vocal talent and his smooth, seductive voice in
ROCKETMAN an Elton John biopic! As 'Deadline' reports,
Dexter Fletcher directed musical movie will follow the famous pop star through the course of his most iconic life.
The film covers the singer/ pianist’s growth from a prodigy at the
Royal Academy of Music to a global superstar, through his influential
and enduring musical partnership with his songwriting collaborator
Bernie Taupin. It is an unvarnished rock ‘n’ roll biopic with John’s
life stripped back of the glitter. It is interesting that Fletcher has
just finished helming another musical biopic Bohemian Rhapsody on Queen
in which Rami Malek plays Freddy Mercury. You will be watching Taron
Edgerton first in new Robin Hood movie!
'GENIUS' SEASON 3
TO FOCUS ON MARY SHELLEY!
|
Mary Shelley will be the third season Genius |
While we're waiting for the second season of National Geographic's anthology series
GENIUS to start this month with
Antonio Banderas as Picasso, after
Geoffrey Rush played Albert Einstein in the first one, the channel has renewed the series for third season as well revealing that it will focus on
Mary Shelley, the writer of what is considered to be one of the first horror novels in history,
Frankenstein. Later on she also pretty much created the Post Apocalyptic genre with her novel
The Last Man. She was inspired by her mother Mary Wollstonecraft who was also a writer and by her husband famous poet Percy Shelley. She was one of few women to support herself as an author during the early 18th century, and her inner circle included countless literary and scientific luminaries of the day, including Lord Byron, Samuel Taylor Coleridge! She died of brain tumour after pretty much outliving all of her family, including three of her four children.
Secareanu sounds like a romanian family name (I'm of romanian descent). Anyway, never seen him in any movie. My loss, I presume.
ReplyDeleteHe is one of the most talented Romanian actors of the younger generations, you should check out God's Own Country if you like bold movies on raw emotions for liberal open minded people and fans of love found in the strangest places :)
DeleteLooking forward to next year's Genius series on Mary Shelley! Her mother, Mary Wollstonecraft, was not just a writer, she was a leading radical of her day along with Mary's father, William Godwin, and was also one of the first notable feminist theorists in the western world.
ReplyDeleteNo wonder she escaped from them at 16 and married Percy then :PPPP
Delete"God's Own Country" has STILL not made it to Edmonton but I keep hoping. So Secareanu is Romanian, eh? The only other Romanian-born actor I'm familiar with is Sebastian Stan, who plays the Winter Soldier in the Marvel movies and was the abusive husband in "I, Tonya." A most excellent actor and a pretty hot dish as well.
ReplyDeleteWe do like Basty with the longer hair in Captain America!
DeleteYou must see God's Own Country, it is very explicit but with a very strong reason and it depicts raw emotions in the most masterful of ways. I'm disgusted it did not have Oscar noms, it did billion things more for the gay movement than that Call My Name borefest.
Outside sounds intriguing. I like a good horror film, as long as it's clever.
ReplyDeletebut you probably won't be able to go outside after it....
DeleteI have not seen God's Own Country yet, but that pic of Secareanu has now pushed it further up in my must see list. A hot dish as Debra said, indeed.
ReplyDeleteI am not an overly huge fan of Elton John's work, but I will be looking forward to the Rocketman musical.
Debra meant Sebastian Stan, but Alex is drop dead gorgeous in God's Own Country, like you wanna jump on him and cover him with kisses in every scene :) The movie is very explicit, but extremely poignant, meaningful and deep, yet simple as life often is even if we don't see it so. We shall definitely keep Alec on our radar!
DeleteWhat, you no likey YOUR SONG, SACRIFICE and NIKITA? What the what? Your Song is one of the most beautiful songs ever written, wish somebody wrote it for me :)
Of course I like a few of his songs. I just can't listen to Elton on repeat. He's more Jason's jam than mine.
DeleteI don't think I ever played his songs on my computer either, but I do like to hear them on the radio and I loved the video for Sacrifice and Your Song in Moulin Rouge!
DeleteMary Shelley was as lonely as the monster she created.
ReplyDeletestrange as she was surrounded with so many romantic hot men....
