NEW MULTICAM SITCOMS
COMING FROM ABC AND FOX
A whole bunch of pilots for possible new multi camera sitcoms has been ordered this week! ABC will develop MAN OF THE HOUSE from Baby Daddy's Frank Pines which, inspired by his real life, follows a teenage star quarterback who ends up as the only male in a house full of females when
his recently divorced mother moves in with her recently divorced sister and their daughters. ABC is also working on an untitled multicam sitcom written by and starring Taylor Tomlinson about a modern young woman who attempts to stay close to her very religious parents while trying to figure out how she wants to live her own life which might involve touching someone else’s body, no matter what they told her at Bible Camp!
A new Fox sitcom will have a dad and a son owning a bar |
Fox has ordered scripts for untitled multicam sitcom from Two Broke
Girls' Morgan Murphy set in the world’s most colourful bar in Mexico.
When a man moves back to his hometown and opens his dream business, he
is dismayed when his rudderless adult son follows him and he realizes
his parenting days aren’t over. Fox is also developing a live multicam
sitcom THE GREAT UNKNOWN from Gail Berman (who is also doing Man of the
House). It will follow a brother and a sister, whose parents force them
to grow up and find their own place to live, as well as real careers and
relationships.
Yay for new comedies! I think Man of the House might be one I would enjoy. We'll have to see on the others though.
ReplyDeleteagreed, fingers crossed at least some of these make it onto the small screens, Fox is trying to create a multicam hour in their programme, but I don't really trust ABC anymore, especially after picking up that garbage Roseanne and kicking out Last Man Standing and that Carol Burnett pilot too :(
