ALEX KINGTON, LINDSAY DUNCAN JOIN TERESA PALMER, MATTHEW GOODE IN 'DISCOVERY OF WITCHES' TV SAGA! SHOWTIME TO TURN 'KINGKILLER CHRONICLE' INTO EPIC TV SERIES

ALEX KINGSTON, LINDSAY DUNCAN JOIN FANTASY TV SERIES
Sky One keeps on casting for the TV series adaptation of Deborah Harkness' A DISCOVERY OF WITCHES novel which sees Teresa Palmer playing Diana Bishop, historian and witch, who comes upon a secret world of vampires and witches. She is offered help in solving the mystery by the enigmatic Matthew Clairmont (Matthew Goode), but he's a vampire and witches should never trust vampires. The two of them join forces to decode a text that could bring peace between the species! Alex Kingston has joined the cast as her mother, a very powerful witch, while Lindsay Duncan will play Ysabeau de Clermont, the vampire mother of Matthew Clairmont who hates all witches.

Speaking of fantasy series, Showtime is turning popular fantasy saga THE KINGKILLER CHRONICLE by Patrick Rothfuss into television drama. Lionsgate is at the same time also developing a major movie and video games based on it.  Set in the world of the popular fantasy series THE KINGKILLER CHRONICLE will follow a pair of wandering performers on their adventures through the unique and startling world of Temerant, immersing audiences in a universe of unexpected heroes, mystical places, and terrifying dark forces! It will be an origin story, set a generation before The Name of the Wind, the first book in the trilogy.

  2. I was a little sad when Witches of East End was taken off the air (I think that's what it was. You know the one with Channing Tatums wife?) I think A Discovery of Witches might be a suitable replacement, though we'll hold off for trailers before making a final decision.

  3. I read A Discovery of Witches and didn't love it so will be skipping that. As for The Name of the Wind, Rothfuss hasn't yet released the third book (and it's been quite some time - like years!!!) so no point in watching that either. And ugh, what an ugly cover. It does look like a guitar and that doesn't look anything like the mc.
