GERARD BUTLER IS SET IN EPIC MOVIE 'GODS OF EGYPT'
Oh, my, do I have a treat for you today! It seems that while Ridley Scott is preparing his EXODUS epic (with Christian Bale as Moses, Aaron Paul as Joshua, Joel Edgerton as Ramses, Sigourney Weaver and John Turturro as pharaoh's parents) we shall get another humongous epic set in ancient Egypt! Summit Entertainment is preparing GODS OF EGYPT and listen to this - with Gerard Butler in the lead role!!! The story will follow Set (Gerard Butler), the God of the desert, storms and foreigners, who kills his own brother Osiris. Horus (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau), Osiris' son, teams up with a human thief and the Goddess of Love, Hathor, to avenge his father's death. Geoffrey Rush will play Ra, the God of the Sun who is father to both Set and Osiris, and also Set's ultimate target. Alex Proyas will helm this extravagant motion picture!
This will be Gerard's fourth time to play a ruler - he played ATTILA king of the Huns, Viking king in HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON and Leonidas, king of the Spartans.

'NEED FOR SPEED' TRAILER
AARON PAUL & DOMINIC COOPER
Speaking of Aaron Paul, before he reveals us his abs in Ridley Scott's Egyptian epic, you will watch him in action movie NEED FOR SPEED. The big screen version of the famous computer game will open up in cinemas next March and today you can watch the first trailer. Also starring Dominic Cooper, Imogen Poots, Michael Keaton and Rami Malek, the film revolves around a local street-racer who partners with a rich and arrogant business associate, only to find himself framed by his colleague and sent to prison. After he gets out, he joins a New York-to-Los Angeles race to get revenge. But when the ex-partner learns of the scheme, he puts a massive bounty on the racer's head, forcing him to run a cross-country gauntlet of illegal racers in all manner of supercharged vehicles.
Need for Speed, eh? Might as well call out the obvious and re-title it Furious Need for Fast Speed. :)
ReplyDeletethere are even fan made posters which mix FF and NFS :)
DeleteWow! I'm really impressed with Douglas Booth.
ReplyDeleteyes, like it wasn't enough that he gave him stunning looks, but God had to give him mindblowing voice too :)
DeleteI need to get me some Romeo pants, it would be great to strut around in the reds...
ReplyDeletethe neighbourhood will be delighted I'm sure :P
DeleteHey, where's Isis? It's very telling that the only Goddess they want in the Egyptian flick is Hathor, "the Goddess of Love."
ReplyDeleteI'm waiting to see whom they will cast as Hathor.... hope some lady with talent.. God forbid if they cast that weak Lena Headey... since she already worked with Butler in 300 and with Nikolaj in SHAME OF THRONES.....
DeleteA need for speed movie? Hollywood has the worst ideas.
ReplyDeleteA fact well known.... but then again the first film in today's post give us optimism....
DeleteIt's nice to see Aaron Paul getting post-Breaking Bad work, but this one is...well...debatable.
ReplyDeletewhich one, Joshie? Him playing someone in need for speed, or him playing Good Joshua? :)
DeleteThe Egyptian epic should be a crowd pleaser, good cast and all!
ReplyDeleteThey' re certainly pleasing me with it, Fran! I'm super excited for this movie
DeleteLooks like I wasn't the only one eye rolling Need for Speed. We can thank Fast & Furious franchise for really over playing these kind of movies.
ReplyDeleteand there are even those CARS and PLANES animated films for kids promoting speed and vehicles :)
DeleteRomeo is cute.
ReplyDeleteThough do we need another adaptation? There are two good Romeo and Juliet movies already. Though a good way to share Shakespeare with a new generation.
he is indeed, you will watch him next to Russell Crowe in NOAH epic next year too.
DeleteWell, at least Aaron Paul has work after Breaking Bad.
ReplyDeleteI've never watched him in BB since that show seems out of my genre and taste, but I would love to see his pretty face in movies :)
DeleteI'm especially interested in Gods Of Egypt. Always curious about what Alex Proyas has to offer.
ReplyDeletethat will be one amazing visual treat!
DeleteGODS OF EGYPT another good movie moment !
ReplyDeleteCheers
totally agreed, Vincent
DeleteOnly three more weeks until Romeo and Juliet? Yay! I need some Shakespeare to recharge my batteries. :))
ReplyDeleteAnd the Gods of Egypt could be fun too. Lots of eye candy anyway. :)
yep, Romeo is hitting the balcony real soon :) I hope the story is a happy ending :PPPP
