SEE NEW IMAGES FROM LAVISH HISTORICAL EPIC SERIES ON EMPEROR ALEXANDER THE FIRST WHO KICKED NAPOLEON OUT OF RUSSIA

  TZAR ALEXANDER THE FIRST
NEW EPIC SERIES HAS FINISHED SHOOTING
After many different versions of series on his grandmother, legendary Catherine the Great, we are finally getting a series on ALEXANDER THE FIRST, the emperor of whole Russia and last year  I gave you first images from this sprawling historical saga which director Artyom Nasybulin was shooting over in St. Petersburg, but now I can tell you the production finished in July. The show is set to premiere sometime next year on Russian streamer Smotrim with linear television premiere on national broadcaster Rossiya 1! The title role is played by Evgeny Romantsov, whom we remember from Goalkeeper of Galaxy sf movie, and he will be accompanied by Anna Banshchikova, Gleb Bochkov, Polina Gukhman, Philip Ershov, Anastasia Krylova, Fyodor Lavrov, Angelina Poplavskaya, Anna Snatkina, Daniil Spivakovsky, Artyom Tkachenko, Vladislav Tsenev, Anna Chipovskaya and Yuri Chursin. I have heard that more than 4,000 costumes were used in the series. During the massive production of this high profile series the actors had to learn how to ride, use weapons and play the violin.

AFTER BEING RAISED
by his babushka, Empress Catherine II, who saw in her eldest grandson the direct heir to the throne, and the European teacher La Harpe, Alexander adheres to liberal views and admires the first years of Napoleon's reign: he dreams that Russia will someday have a republic. After the death of Catherine, during the reign of Paul, Alexander continued to hope for reforms. However, he is soon overcome by disappointment in Paul both as a father and as a statesman. As a result of the conspiracy, Emperor Paul the First dies, and Alexander, haunted by guilt for the death of his father, is forced to ascend the throne to confront the new intrigues of the aristocrats and his overbearing mother. At the same time, Alexander understands that a threat looms over Russia: war with the invincible Napoleon is inevitable, it’s only a matter of time. I will show you the trailer as soon as we get one over from Russia.

SEE YVONNE STRAHOVSKI AND SCOTT SPEEDMAN IN FIRST TEASER TRAILER FOR PEACOCK'S FANTASY HORROR MYSTERY SERIES TEACUP

  TEACUP TEASER TRAILER
FOR SCARY NEW PEACOCK TV SERIES
In our spotlight on all the new shows arriving to the small screens this Autumn I also mentioned TEACUP which will be served at Peacock October 10th with eight scary episodes featuring Yvonne Strahovski and Scott Speedman in the lead roles in this story in which, trapped on a farm in
Teacup starts this October on Peacock
rural Georgia, a group of neighbors must put aside their differences and unite in the face of a mysterious and deadly threat.

TEACUP SERIES IS AN ADAPTATION
of the 1988 book Stinger by Robert McCammon. Showrunner Ian McCulloh said that the series comprising of eight half hour episodes is a puzzle-box mystery, an edge-of-your-seat thriller, a can’t-but-must look horror story, a family drama, a science fiction epic! It's a genre-bending blend of horror, mystery, and drama, with layers that unfold like a captivating puzzle. It goes beyond chills and thrills and holds up a mirror to humanity, exploring the darkness that resides within us all. The novel was set in a town driven to the brink by racial tension, gang violence, and a collapsing economy. But things can always get worse, and they do so with astonishing speed when an unidentified spacecraft crash lands in the desert outside of town, followed by a second craft bearing the alien being who will soon be known as Stinger. After premiering with two episodes on October 10th it will stream the rest weekly.

SEE FIRST TRAILER FOR EARLY 1900S IMPERIAL RUSSIA SET REVOLUTIONARY HISTORICAL THRILLER SERIES STOLIPIN

   FIRST STOLIPIN TRAILER
FROM NEW RUSSIAN PERIOD SET TV SERIES
Stolipin will hit the small screens this Autumn
Beside the Plevako series that I already announced to you recently, another new costume drama ready to hit Russian small screens this Autumn is six part historical series STOLIPIN (Столыпин) which was shot last year over in the northern capital of Sankt Peterburg and should launch on Russian national broadcaster and also on Smotrim streamer in the new TV season directed by Aleksei Andrianov and with the story set at the tumultuous and revolutionary days of the first years of the 20th century. The cast includes Alexander Ustyugov, Alexander Yatsenko, Stasya Miloslavskaya, Pavel Popov, Yuri Nasonov, Sergei Barkovsky, Daria Konyzheva, Boris Kamorzin, Pavel Trubiner, Andrey Urgant, Vladimir Yumatov and other Russian actors and stars. The series will probably air sometime this Autumn.

THE STORY STARTS IN 1906
Pyotr Stolypin (Aleksandr Ustyugov), newly appointed Minister of Internal Affairs of the Russian Empire, arrives in Sankt Peterburg. A group of maximalist revolutionaries is developing a plan to kill the “enemy of the revolution.” But how to get close to such an important person? Who will emerge victorious in this confrontation - fanatical supporters of the revolution, firmly convinced that they are right, ready to lay down their lives in the name of alleviating the lot of oppressed workers and peasants, or the all-powerful chairman of the cabinet of ministers, working tirelessly just to restore order in a country torn apart by political violence... You can check out the gorgeous first trailer below and tell us what you think.

HOLLYWOOD SPY'S GUIDE THROUGH ALL THE BEST NEW TV SERIES LAUNCHING AUTUMN 2024 ON THE SMALL SCREENS

 AUTUMN TV SCHEDULE
NEW SEPTEMBER 2024 TV SERIES
Unlike some previous seasons, this one has a very bleak start, I think we are finally feeling the consequences of the actors' strike. So not much to report when it comes to new series this September. Netflix will launch THE PERFECT COUPLE on September 5th with Nicole Kidman and Liev Schreiber as a rich family that unravels after a body washes up right outside their family home. Channel 5 has set September 9th date for the second season of THE TEACHER series about a teacher whose pupil goes missing. Apple TV is launching their fashion house set series LA MAISON September 20th with Lambert Wilson as the head of the house whose rival wants to take it from him. Over in Britain ITV will air their mini series PLAYING NICE with James Norton and Niamh Algar as one of two couples who discover their toddlers were switched at birth. I hear it will start September 19th, while BBC will air their NIGHTSLEEPER series September 15th. This real-time thriller is set on a runaway sleeper train travelling from Glasgow to London.

NEW OCTOBER TV SERIES
October is, meanwhile, stuffed with newbies starting October 2nd when Australian series LAST DAYS OF THE SPACE AGE starts set at the moment when American space station Skylab crash lands on earth just outside an Australian city, as it is gearing up to host the Miss Universe pageant. October 10th brings TEACUP to Peacock. Yvonne Strahovski and Scott Speedman lead a group of people desperately trying to grapple with forces far beyond their control. A day after Apple TV has Cate Blanchett in DISCLAIMER in which she plays a journalist who has the tables turned on her by a mysterious novel, written by Kevin Kline, which reveals her darkest secrets. October 18th brings RIVALS to Disney Plus and Hulu, with Aidan Turner, David Tennant in the story about the rise of independent television in 1980s England, the rise filled with sex, scandals and battles for power. October 24th brings TERRITORY to Netflix led by Anna Torv and Sam Corlett. When a massive cattle station lacks an heir, Australia's rival factions see a chance to seize control. The land grabs threaten to destroy the declining dynasty. A day after that NAUTILUS epic adventure series hits Prime Video following Shazad Latif's Captain Nemo and his crew.

NEW MULTICAMERA SITCOMS OF OCTOBER
October also brings us a number of new multicamera sitcoms which are experiencing a revival this season. On the 17th CBS launches GEORGIE AND MANDY'S FIRST MARRIAGE which will see Montana Jordan and Emily Osment reprise their roles from Young Sheldon in a prequel series. Reba is back on television October 18th as an owner of her own bar in HAPPY'S PLACE, a new sitcom that also stars Melissa Peterman. CBS also has POPPA'S PLACE starting October 21st with Damon Wayans and Damon Wayans Jr., as a legendary talk show host named Poppa and his dreamer son.

NEW AUTUMN SERIES WITH NO DATE SET
There are also new series that will arrive this Autumn but we still have no dates for them. HBO and Sky will launch DUNE: PROPHECY sometime in November with Emily Watson and Olivia Williams as two sisters who found a mysterious sect Bene Geserit in order to protect the galaxy. PBS and BBC will probably bring us Keeley Hawes in MISS AUSTEN mini series about Jane Austen's sister, Europe will follow the Battle of Belgrade in RISE OF THE RAVEN epic series about the fearless warrior Janos Hunyadi who defeated the Ottoman Army and defended Europe in 1456. Netflix will probably give us A 100 YEARS OF SOLITUDE based on the famous classic and set in the timeless town of Macondo, where seven generations of the Buendía family navigate love, oblivion and the inescapability of their past and their fate. Over in UK Channel 5 is bringing  HARDACRES epic drama about a working class family in 1890s Yorkshire who move from a grimy fish dock to a vast country estate, and THE WIVES mini series about three sisters in law, who investigate the murder of a woman who was married to the fourth brother of their husbands and who appears at their holiday resort with a new wife. Over in France, period set series DANGEROUS FRIENDSHIP about the friendship between Anne queen of France and duchess de Chevreuse should, according to rumours, arrive sometime in September or October. I imagine that Netflix could also finally stream Italian costume drama IL GATTOPARDO about a 19th-century Sicilian aristocratic family that gets caught up in the changing sociopolitical times.
