'SHADOWHUNTERS' SERIES

 KATHERINE MCNAMARA, MATTHEW DADDARIO AND ISAIAH MUSTAFA JOIN THE CAST

Meanwhile, ABC Family has rounded up its cast for their new fantasy series SHADOW HUNTERS based on MORTAL INSTRUMENTS books. Katherine McNamara will take the lead role of 18-year old Clary who finds out  that she comes from a long line of SHADOW HUNTERS — human angels who hunt down demons. When her mother Jocelyn is kidnapped, Clary is thrown into the world of demon hunting with mysterious Shadowhunter Jace (Dominic Sherwood) and her best friend Simon (Alberto Rosende). Now living among faeries, warlocks, vampires and werewolves, Clary begins a journey of self discovery as she learns more about her past and what her future may hold. Matthew Daddario will play Alec Lightwood, who joins Jace (towards whom he develops romantic love) and his sister Isabelle (Emeraude Toubia) to hunt down creatures, while Isaiah Mustafa will appear as Luke Garroway, a detective and a werewolf pack leader who was once a powerful and strong Shadowhunter himself.

While many sitcoms were axed this week (MCCARTHYS, ONE BIG HAPPY, MARRY ME, ABOUT A BOY, CRISTELA) our favourite UNDATEABLE has been ordered for third, 13 episode, season which will, listen to this, all air live next year!  It is the only returning comedy series at NBC! The cast is lead by outstanding comedians Brent Morin, Chris D'Elia, Bjanka Kaylich and Rick Glassman!

'MERCY STREET' SERIES

The first American series at PBS in ten years Ridley Scott's Civil War drama MERCY STREET has announced its cast! Josh Radnor, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Gary Cole and Cherry Jones will star in the series that follows the lives of two volunteer nurses on opposing sides of the Civil War — New England abolitionist Mary Phinney (Winstead) and Confederate supporter Emma Green. The Green family’s luxury hotel in Alexandria has been transformed into Mansion House, a Union Army hospital tending to the war’s wounded. The series is inspired by memoirs and letters from real doctors and nurse volunteers at the hospital in Alexandria, the longest occupied Confederate city of the war.

STAR IN 'UNDATEABLE' NBC SITCOM'S LIVE EPISODE
In other TV news, our favourite TV sitcom, the wonderfully warm, delightful and joyful UNDATE- ABLE has announced Victoria Justice as the guest star in the penultimate episode of the second season which airs live for both coasts May 5th! Airing at NBC on Tuesdays, this wonderfully charming comedy show follows a group of loving friends who spend most of their days at their bar helping each other find love in life. The sitcom stars Chris D'Elia, Brent Morin, David Fynn, Rick Glassman, Ron Funches and Bianca Kajlich.

'FLESH AND BONE' TRAILER 

NEW STARZ LIMITED TV SERIES

Starz has released the first trailer for their new Winter 2015 limited series FLESH AND BONE which shows that ballet can be a rather tense and dangerous affair! Not what you'd expect from a bunch of tutus flying around. The eight episode series will follow an aspiring ballet dancer (Sarah Hay) who leaves home for New York. Her natural talent lands her a spot in a high-profile ballet troupe run by a demanding teacher (Ben Daniels), but she must make peace with her past in order to achieve her dreams. Acclaimed American dancer Ethan Stiefel is doing the choreography for the series which also stars Marina Benedict and Tovah Feldshuh.

DOMINIC PURCELL REUNITES WITH WENTWORTH MILLER

Now, I was mostly disappointed with CW's ARROW and THE FLASH series (nice casts, boring, dated stories) but I know that many of you love to watch them, so you might be happy to hear that CW is preparing a spin-off series which will will see a group of heroes battling against a major DC Comics villain. Dominic Purcell, Brandon Routh, Wentworth Miller, Victor Garber and Caity Lotz will reprise their superhero roles from the original series. Dominic Purcell will again take his role as Mick Rory, a pyromaniac who finds an outlet for his obsession with fire when he teams up with Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller) and becomes the villain known as Heat Wave. Brandon Routh will be The Atom while Victor Garber is Firestorm. It is not sure whether Caity Lotz will reprise her role of Black Canary or some other hero. Two other male and one female characters will also be in the show. 

'OF KINGS AND PROPHETS'

JAMES FLOYD IS WARRIOR PRINCE
Casting continues over at ABC for their new historical series OF KINGS AND PROPHETS! The latest one to join the cast is James Floyd! The biblical drama which follows a battle weary king, a bitter prophet and a resourceful shepherd on a collision course with destiny, will see him play Ish-Boseth, the youngest warrior son of the first king and queen of Israel Saul and Anohim (Ray Winstone and Simone Kessell). I've told you earlier that the series, to be shot in South Africa, will also have Maisie Richardson Sellers playing his sister, young princess Michal, while Oliver Rix will be David, the second king of Israel! Meanwhile, Mohammad Bakri will play Samuel, last of the Biblical judges who hears and speaks for God!

Over at NBC, one of their most popular sitcoms, which broke records last summer, is returning tonight with the second season with the announcement that it's penultimate second season episode will air live on May 5th with separate live productions for both coasts! Starring Brent Morin, Chris D'Elia, Rich Glassman, Bianca Kajlich and Bridgit Mendler, UNDATEABLE is a most delightful sitcom about a group of close-knit friends living in Detroit, helping one another figure out their lives.

We continue with updates on new sitcoms today, people, starting with the news coming from NBC. Earlier this Autumn I told you that both ABC and NBC were courting Eva Longoria to come to them with her projects, and now it seems NBC has won since Eva will both produce and star in their new sitcom TELENOVELA! In the thirteen episode comedy series she will play the wilful, popular diva Ana Maria, the star of Latin America’s most beloved TELENOVELA, who strives to stay on top in a world where the drama on-camera is nothing compared to the drama off-camera.

'ONE BIG HAPPY' TRAILER

A DIFFERENT KIND OF FAMILY
Speaking of NBC, I've already announced that from March 17th they will have a new comedy hour with UNDATEABLE and ONE BIG HAPPY and now we have trailers for both. Coming from Ellen Degeneres, ONE BIG HAPPY will follow two  best friends Lizzy (Elisha Cuthbert) and Luke (Nick Zano). As kids, they saw each other’s parents go through divorce and have ever since formed an inseparable bond. Now, all grown up and still single, they’ve decided to start a family of their own, but in a non-traditional way. Lizzy, who is a lesbian, wants to raise a child with Luke by her side. Then one night, Luke falls for Prudence (Kelly Brook), a free-spirited British girl who’s due to go back to England in a matter of days. Then, just as Lizzy discovers that she’s actually pregnant, Luke announces that he and Prudence have gotten married and in an instant — a different kind of family is born.

Coming on March Tuesday nights right before ONE BIG HAPPY is the second season of last year's truly beautiful smash hit comedy - which will now air in early spring instead of May like last year when, thanks to its warm humour, it became NBC's most watched summer sitcom in last ten years. The sitcom stars delightful Brent Morin as Justin, a 30-something carefree guy who becomes friends with a bunch of people who have qualities that make them unattractive to the opposite sex. Second season will continue following their adventures in dating and finding partners, and in developing warm friendship between this band of oddballs. Also staring are Chris D'Elia as Danny, Justin's roommate and business partner, Bianca Kajlich as Danny’s baby sister, David Fynn as Justin’s gay bartender, Rick Glassman and Ron Funches as the regular jokesters in Justin's pub. Bunch of TV news for you today starting with British ITV which are planning to turn famous epic BEOWULF into a western type epic TV series! The 13-part re-imagining of the Old English epic poem created by James Dormer, Tim Haines and Katie Newman, is set in the mythical Shieldlands, a dangerous place populated by both humans and fantastical creatures. A type of a Western set in the Dark Ages of Britain's mythic past, the story sees Beowulf return to his hometown of Herot following years spent wandering the country as a mercenary warrior. When Herot is attacked by the terrifying monster Grendel, Beowulf is left with no choice but to hunt it down, winning him favour with Herot's new female ruler. Shooting starts next April in UK!

EDDIE CIBRIAN IN 'BABY DADDY'

In the realm of our fave comedy series, BABY DADDY, which returns with the fourth season to ABC Family January 14th, will have Eddie Cibrian as the new guest star! He will play Ross, a charming, chivalrous, genuinely good guy who has just been transferred to a prestigious New York office, where he will be the new managing partner. Unfortunately, the night before his first day, he meets Riley (Chelsea Kane) at a bar — and things quickly turn romantic. What will happen once they learn that Ross is actually Riley’s new boss?

'UNDATEABLE' 2ND SEASON & 'ONE BIG HAPPY' TO AIR IN MARCH
NBC has announced their new sitcom block on Tuesdays starting from March which will see the return of beloved comedy UNDATEABLE in the second season on March 17th followed by new sitcom ONE BIG HAPPY! Starring Elisha Cuthbert and Nick Zano, ONE BIG HAPPY, produced by Ellen DeGeneres, centres on a lesbian and her straight male friend deciding to have a baby together. Warm and fun, UNDATEABLE follows a bunch of friends who, unlucky in love, hang  together in a bar owned by one of them. This truly lovely sitcom quickly won the love of the crowd when it aired its first season last spring starring Brent Morin, Chris D'Elia, Bianca Kajlich, David Fynn!
