Here is something for you that is starting as soon as next week: new sf series THE PASSAGE will start airing tomorrow, Monday January 14th on Fox loosely based on the famous trilogy of novels by Justin Cronin spanning 1,000 years in the life of Amy Bellafonte, as she moves from being manipulated in a government conspiracy through to protecting mankind in a dystopian vampire future. THE PASSAGE FOCUSES ON

powers that allow her to communicate with “virals,” terrifying monsters
that once were human. Through flashbacks, Amy tells her tale, which is
directly tied to the genesis of these creatures. Gosselaar will play an
agent who is supposed to escort her from a medical facility but escapes
with her realizing she might be the key for saving humanity from a
vampire disease!
SAM HEUGHAN CAST IN
'THE SPY WHO DUMPED ME'
While he is playing a Scottish highlander manipulated by his overly controlling adulteress wife in Outlander, Sam Heughan will move onto the big screens as well, since he just landed his first leading movie role. He will apparently play a cheating spy in THE SPY WHO DUMPED ME which also stars Mila Kunis and Kate McKinnon.
Set for July next year, the movie revolves around two women (played
by Kate McKinnon and Mila Kunis) who find themselves in the middle of
an international conspiracy when one of them discovers that the man who
dumped her was actually a spy.
'THE LAST TYCOON' SERIES

Amazon has released the
trailer for their new mini series THE LAST TYCOON which will start
airing July 28th starring Matt Bomer, Lily Collins and Kelsey Grammer.
Nine episodes are a Scott. F. Fitzgerald adaptation. The story follows
Monroe Stahr, Hollywood's Golden Boy as he battles father figure and
boss Pat Brady for the soul of their studio. In a world darkened by the
Depression and the growing influence of Hitler's Germany, THE LAST
TYCOON illuminates the passions, violence and towering ambition of 1930s
Hollywood.

Starting with Mark Paul Gosselaar who after finishing job in charmingly adorable but undeservedly short lived TRUTH BE TOLD sitcom at NBC will star in FOX new drama PITCH about an outstanding female baseball player (Kylie Bunbury) who makes it all the way to the major leagues.
She'll have to share the field with legendary catcher Mike Lawson (Gosselaar), whose initial scepticism gives way to a romantic spark.

her family’s life before she dies JOEL MCHALE TO LEAD 'GREAT INDOORS' Over at CBS, they've
cast Joel McHale to lead THE GREAT INDOORS sitcom as a magazine editor
for 'The Great Outdoors' who, after an injury, has to leave mountain
climbing for a desk job where he is in charge of a group of millenniums
at the magazine's social media department, leading a much younger staff
without driving himself nuts.

HYPO- CHONDRIAC sitcom from Julie Bowen about a hypochondriac who receives
a fatal diagnosis. She then sets herself, and her friends and family, on a path of comedic destruction in pursuit of her “authentic self”.
And CBS has bought TALK NERDY TO ME sitcom about four smart, ambitious
women, two computer programmers, a musician and a doctor, who share a
house on the canals in Venice, CA, and support one another as they reach
for their dreams professionally and personally.
TV LAND'S 'I SHUDDER'
Over at TV Land, Megan Hilty, John Behlmann and Brooklyn Shuck will star opposite Hamish Linklater in the new sitcom I SHUDDER about Elyot Vionnet (Linklater), an advocate of manners, style and most importantly, common decency. Observing people committing heinous crimes of etiquette, he tries to counsel them from afar, inserting himself into their lives most unwelcomely. When the individuals he deems classless choose not to take his advice, they are met with terrible consequences. Elyot joins forces with his young neighbor Stella (Shuck) to try to make the world better, one tactless person at a time. Hilty and Behlmann play Stella's parents.
It's that time of the year when networks are ordering new projects into series, so today I'm presenting you with some of the comedy shows that have been greenlit so far! First off with dashing Mark Paul Gosselaar whose sitcom PEOPLE ARE TALKING has been ordered by NBC. He, Meaghan Rath, Tone Bell and Bresha Webb will play two couples, best friends and neighbours. The sometime neurotic couples can't help but over-analyse every facet of their lives, from race to sex and beyond. The sitcom will air on Friday Evenings following UNDATEABLE all live 3rd season episodes.
NBC OPENS UP A 'SUPERSTORE'

NBC has also picked up SUPERSTORE sitcom with America Ferrera and Ben Feldman about a unique family of employees at a super-sized megastore. From the bright-eyed newbies and the seen-it-all veterans to the clueless summer hires and in-it-for-life managers, together they hilariously tackle the day-to-day grind of rabid bargain hunters, riot-causing sales and nap-worthy training sessions.
ABC'S 'REAL O'NEALS'
BEING GAY, BEING REAL ABC has ordered REAL O'NEALS, about a seemingly perfect Catholic
family, whose lives take an unexpected turn when when their son comes
out as gay. Instead of ruining their family, the honesty triggers a new chapter where everyone stops pretending to be perfect and
actually starts being real. Martha Plimpton, Jay R. Ferguson and Noah
Galvin lead the cast.
'UNCLE BUCK' BRINGS LUCK They've also ordered UNCLE BUCK
(Mike Epps), a fun loving but irresponsible guy who needs a
job and a place to stay. By happy coincidence, his nieces and nephew’s
Nanny has just quit and his brother needs his help. His
unconventional personality just may make him the right fit for the
family and they may be the answer to his problems, too. James Lesure and
Nia Long also star.
'GRANDFATHERED' AT FOX

Fox has picked up GRANDFATHERED for series. John Stamos is playing a version of himself: a charismatic longtime bachelor whose life is upended when he discovers he’s a father — and a grandfather. THE OFFICE's Danny Chun is writing the script.
'GRINDER' AT FOX
ROBIN LOWE AND FRED SAVAGE
Another 80's star Rob Lowe will also have his sitcom at Fox. GRINDER will see him play a beloved TV lawyer while Fred Savage will play his brother. When his long-running hit series comes to an end, he finds himself at a crossroads in life and decides to move back to his small home town, thinking he has the experience to take over his family’s law firm.
The Hollywood Reporter writes today that superdashing TV star Mark Paul Gosselaar will return to TV after FRANKLIN AND BASH series. He will star in the pilot episode for NBC's possible new sitcom PEOPLE ARE TALKING which will examine sex, race and everything else your parents told you never to talk about.

EPIC 'BATTALION' TRAILER ON
RUSSIAN WW1 FEMALE SOLDIERS
And here's something epic and visually spectacular: currently playing in Russian cinemas is World War I epic drama BATTALION coming from director Dmitriy Meskhiev and produced by famous Russian filmmaker Fedor Bondarchuk who helmed huge Russian blockbuster STALINGRAD. The story of the historical movie is set in 1917's Russia at the height of First World War telling of the 1st Russian Women's Battalion of Death, formed as part of an effort to inspire the mass of war-weary soldiers to continue fighting in World War I.
DEZZY'S HISTORY CLASS Beside the idea of inspiring the exhausted Russian soldiers after
years of defending their country in WWI they also hoped the presence of
women would shame hesitant male soldiers into resuming their combat
duties. Beside 15 female formations formed in 1917, there was also
an all female naval unit! Only The 1st Russian Women's Battalion of
Death, was deployed to the front line commanded by Russian peasant woman
Maria Bochkareva who already served in the Army since 1914. When tired
male soldiers hesitated to occupy German trenches near Smorgon, the
women decided to go without them successfully taking over a number of
enemy trenches.
