PREMIUM SPOTLIGHT ON BBC EPIC SERIES KING AND CONQUEROR WITH JAMES NORTON & NIKOLAJ COSTER WALDAU AS HAROLD OF WESSEX AND WILLIAM OF NORMANDY

SETS AUGUST AIR DATE AT BBC ONE
After trailer a few weeks ago with Nikolaj Coster Waldau and James Norton as leads in their eight part historical series KING AND CONQUERORin which they are playing 11th century figures William, Duke of Normandy, and Harold, Earl of Wessex,respectively, with Emily Beecham as Harold’s wife Edith and Clemence Poésy as William’s wife Matilda, BBC has revealed the official start date of August 24th as well! The second episode will air the following evening and the rest will then continue on Sunday evenings. Over in USA this expensive historical drama will stream at a later date over on Prime Video, and on HBO Max in many smaller international markets. IT TELLS THE STORY OF
a clash that defined the future of a country, and a continent, for a thousand years, the roots of which stretch back decades and extend out through a pair of interconnected family dynasties, struggling for power across two countries and a raging sea. Harold of Wessex and William of Normandy were two men destined to meet at the Battle of Hastings in 1066; two allies with no design on the British throne, who found themselves forced by circumstance and personal obsession into a war for possession of its crown.

 Ingvar Sigurdsson is Fitzosbern, William’s protector since he was a boy and the closest thing he has to a friend. A grounded and straightforward soldier who has stood beside William his whole life.  Eddie Marsan is KingEdward, the weak and pious King of England; Juliet Stevenson is his mother, Lady Emma, the true power behind the throne; Jean Marc Barr is King Henry of France, a father figure to William and the uncle of William’s wife, Matilda, and an extremely dangerous man to have as your enemy; Geoff Bell is Godwin, the patriarch of the Godwin household and a fierce protector of Wessex and the Godwin legacy; Elliot Cowan is Sweyn, Harold’s eldest brother and arrogance personified; Bo Bragason is Queen Gunhild, the youngest Godwin sibling who married King Edward to secure Godwin blood on the throne; Bjarne Henriksen is Earl Siward, a rough, old-time Dane; Oliver Masucci is Baldwin, the father of Matilda and a cunning politician; Clare Holman is Gytha, Harold’s mother and a strong force in the Godwin family. Luther Ford will be Tostig, the youngest son of the Godwin family who idolizes Harold and wants to always do what is right for his family, but he’s yet to find his place in the world.  Elander Moore will star as cruel anddevious aristocrat Morcar,  Indy Lewis as the sheltered Margaret, Jason Forbes as the loyal Thane Thomas, Ines Asserson as the eligible Judith and Sveinn Ólafur Gunnarsson as fearsome warrior Hardrada. After announcing that Nikolaj Coster Waldau and James Norton will lead their eight part historical series KING AND CONQUEROR playing 11th century figures William, Duke of Normandy, and Harold, Earl of Wessex,respectively, with Emily Beecham as Harold’s wife Edith and Clemence Poésy as William’s wife Matilda, BBC has unveiled the first trailer today as well for the series that will arrive according to BBC later this August which is a strange time for an expensive historical drama. In USA it will stream on Prime Video, and on HBO Max in many smaller international markets.

UNVEILS FIRST ROYAL IMAGES
After announcing that Nikolaj Coster Waldau and James Norton will lead their eight part historical series KING AND CONQUEROR playing 11th century figures William, Duke of Normandy, and Harold, Earl of Wessex, respectively, with Emily Beecham as Harold’s wife Edith and Clemence Poésy as William’s wife Matilda, BBC has unveiled the first images as well for the series that will arrive sometime in 2025. If I got it right it will air on CBS in USA.

NEW FRENCH HIGH CONCEPT FANTASY MYSTERY MINI TV SERIES LA CORDE, THE ROPE, IS ARRIVING THIS MONTH WITH JEAN MARC BARR

While Hollywood is sleeping, the spy is here to remind you of a French show I mentioned before but it is now arriving to French Arte January 27th: THE ROPE or LA CORDE is a three episode fantasy mystery coming from
La Corde will air from January 27th on Arte
Eric Forestier and Dominique Rocher while the cast of the series brings together a roster of talented actors of different nationalities: Suzanne Clément, Jeanne Balibar, Christa Théret, Richard Sammel, Jakob Cedergren, Tom Mercier and famous Jean-Marc Barr. In the series, an international research team at an astronomical observatory in Norway has been given the green light to continue its work. But then the scientists discover a rope that snakes endlessly between the trees in the forest and seems to have no end. A small group sets out to solve the mystery of the rope. But in the contact with the rope itself many of them will reveal their inner torments. Bathed in a bewitching soundscape, the
French, English and Norwegian can be heard in the series
observation station and the immense forest that surrounds it provide a padded setting for the human dramas that unfold there. The series took part in London Film Festival last Autumn.

English and Russian with the cast coming from England, France, Russia, Asia. Our dear Lex Shrapnel will be in it together with Vlad Ivanov, Celine Sallette, Oleg Levin, Laurent Capellu- to, Daniar Alshi- nov! The ISS, the International Space Station has gone silent. The crew is in distress. Simultaneously, a decapitated and waxed body is found on a roof in Kazakhstan. Positive identification leaves no room for doubt: the body belongs to an American astronaut currently on a mission on the ISS. A French astronaut, dismissed from the space program, and a Kazakh cop, disowned by his ranking hierarchy, set out to solve this mysterious paradox.

Jakob Cedregren for three episode series THE ROPE. In the fantasy thriller, co-written and directed by Dominique Rocher, a small group of scientists working at a remote Norwegian base discover a seemingly endless piece of rope just outside their observatory which runs into the vast surrounding forest. Intrigued by the discovery, several members of the team group up and begin to follow the rope into the wilderness, while others stay behind to man the station.Curiosity transforms into compulsion as the mystery deepens, forcing each character to face the life-changing consequences of choices they’ve made.

Juno Temple plays American debutante Lucy Savage faced with a culture shock.
