I first mentioned gorgeous period set
drama movie PRISONERS OF PARADISE from director Mitch Jenkins more than four years ago but the film underwent a difficult road after its director died unexpectedly. It is now
finally ready to hit the cinemas this August in Europe and US and we have a trailer to prove it.
Set in 1925, Mauritius, at a time of social tension, this island
paradise is the backdrop for a coming of age love story.
Orphaned, 19 year old, Lucy Gladwell has been sent from England to live under the guardianship of her uncle George.
Initially seduced by the sumptuous beauty of her surroundings and the charm of her new family, Lucy sees George as a benign, humorous and loving man who has her best interests at heart.
But beneath this veneer of civilisation set in Paradise, lies a dark violent force, that wants to entrap and rule her.
When Lucy falls in love with Krishna, an indentured labourer their fates become intertwined.
Like Romeo and Juliet, true love is something neither of these PRISONERS OF PARADISE can
