As usual, the list is comprised of the hits coming from all sides of the world, so we again have songs from UK, USA, France, Sweden, Germany, Serbia, Wales, Romania, Ireland... the list is long. The link will lead you to YouTube videos and tell us what were your favourite hits this year?

2020 TOP 30 BEST SONGS

  2. I feel like we just saw this list. Has it really been a year already?? Would you believe me when I say I haven’t heard one new song this year?? Audibles has taken over all of my listening time! M. Pokora for the win for me. His voice was very smooth and I liked the simplicity of his video.

    1. Did you know that Pokora is married to Christina Milian? They've just got a baby this year. He's been a massive French star for decades, he was very cute when he was young, like a French Timberlake, but he is much older.

    2. I have found out about that news just recently, I remember Milian when she released her first album, I used to love R&B😊 And Pokora has Polish background, nice couple! Happy New Year!

    3. I figured he has judging by the surname :) I've watched your Voice last month, by the way, one of the contestant sung our Hajde Jano folk song to the piano.

    4. Really?? I only know Christina Milian bc of MTV back in the day. I remember her big song too. I think he’s a very handsome man!! Some men look better as they get older. :)

    5. He is one of the judges on French Voice, so you can watch him there too on their YouTube page :) I've rather turned to French pop in recent years with the appearance of Gims and Kendji Girac.

    6. I've watch Eurovision a few times through Youtube and my favorite each year is almost always Greece! Although, I haven't watched in a few years.

    7. It is aired live on YouTube so you can watch it this year in May, it has three evenings, two semis and a finale on Saturday night. Greece hasn't been good in a long time, you probably liked Elena Paparizu and Sakis Rouvas and Calomira (she actually competed when Eurosong was here in Belgrade). I usually like Sweden.

    8. I loved Kalomira!!! It's one of my favorite songs. Did you know she's really American? When I went to Greece with my ex, everyone would call me Kalomira b/c of my American accent speaking Greek.

    9. Yes, she sung My Secret Combination in Belgrade. We will be represented by Hurricane this year at Eurosong. They were supposed to represent us last year with Hasta la Vista but the Eurosong was cancelled so they will compete this year instead. My fave Greek Eurosong song is probably Pia Prosephi.

  3. Nice collection! I love One Republic.

    1. They're the best band that happened to pop music in last ten years.

  4. I think I am out...didn't know many of them. Thanks for sharing and I gotta check them out.

  5. I tell you what, I was so sick of Blinding Lights by the end of the year. It was way overplayed here, I started to cringe every time I heard it. Jason's been listening to a lot of German rap these past few months. Some of it is quite catchy, even if I don't have any idea what they are saying (probably something awful like they do here in English rap lol). I, myself, love French music, so the French one you listed (Danse Avec Moi) would probably be my favorite on this list.

    1. It was overplayed everywhere LOL Aliens probably hate it too :) I don't think I know any German rappers. I love Gentleman but he is more reggae than rap. How do you listen to German rap if you don't know the words LOL? I personally think you would like any of the embedded videos that I spotlighted here. What I found interesting is that I don't have any female singers on the list this year, except Lidia Buble, it was definitely a year of amazing male vocals.

  6. I think it's just the beat and the flow of the words that he really likes. When he's working on the addition to the garage, German rap is what he always plays to keep him motivated. It was definitely a year for the men of music. I don't recall adding many female songs to my playlist this year except for Gabby Barret.

    1. Who is she? Never heard of her. Is she country? I watched DASHING THROUGH DECEMBER festive movie with Peter Porte and Juan Pablo di Pace this weekend and it had Wintersong from Sara Bareilles in it, it was so lovely I had to look it up on YouTube and found a Celine Dion version which is better than the original.

  7. I think she might be country. I'm not too sure though. Maybe a little pop mixed in there. She does kind of remind me of Carrie Underwood, minus the bitchy attitude Carrie tends to have. Allison added her to my playlist while we were driving through Michigan this fall for road trip music and it grew on me to the point that I left it on my playlist and listen to her every now and again.

I haven't seen Dashing Through December, but now I am going to go look up Wintersong on YouTube. You know I love me some Celine (and Sara Bareilles isn't too bad either!)

    1. I'm not familiar with your country music at all, except Shania and LeAnn Rimmes (who was wonderful in Masked Singer), YouTube will sometimes offer me some country music to listen to and I will open a video if it some hunk singing, but they are usually to mellow or boring for me. The same reason I don't do jazz. I shall look up Gabby over there tonight!
Wintersong has such lovely lyrics, it caught my attention with 'They say that things just cannot grow
      Beneath the winter snow,
Or so I have been told.
      They say were buried far,
      Just like a distant star
      I simply cannot hold.'

    2. Jason says the same about country music. It's too slow, mellow and depressing for him LOL. It's not my favorite genre, but I do like Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Shania.. the ones that were big in the 90's. I did listen to a lot of Leanne Rimes when she first made it big, but I don't think she's had an album in many years now.

Loved Wintersong! I put it on my playlist last night after seeking it out on YouTube. I love Celine's OooOoooh's and how she goes up and down and the flow on those. Such a gorgeous melody and lyrics!

    3. It is very nice, especially when used in movie scenes, gives it even more depth.
