'SIX MINUTES TO MIDNIGHT'
WITH EDDIE IZZARD, JUDI DENCH, JAMES D'ARCY, JIM BROADBENT
James D'Arcy will play a Captain in the movie |
In the movie, based on true events from 1939, Izzard, who recently
already played with Judi Dench in Victoria and Abdul, plays a teacher
named Thomas Miller who has taken a last minute and controversial role
teaching English to the daughters of high ranking Nazis at the Augusta
Victoria College, Bexhill-on-Sea – a finishing school on the south coast
of England. Under the watchful eye of their headmistress Miss Rocholl
(Judi Dench), and her devout assistant Ilse Keller (Carla Juri), the
girls practice their English and learn how to represent the ideal of
German womanhood. When the body of a former teacher is discovered, it
triggers a sequence of deadly events and leaves Thomas running from the
police with the threat of being hanged for murder.
Judi Dench will be the strict headmistress! |
WW2 'DAS BOOT' SERIES
FIRST PHOTO EMERGES!
Speaking of James D'Arcy check out the first photo from DAS BOOT TV series which also stars Tom Wlaschiha, Vincent Kartheiser and Thierry Frémont alongside Lizzy Caplan! Inspired by the Oscar nominated film of
the same name from Wolfgang Petersen,
the eight part series has the story set on a submarine in autumn 1942,
as U-boat warfare becomes increasingly brutal. While a very young crew
put out to sea on a dangerous combat patrol, the Résistance rises in the
U-boat port of La Rochelle. Sky will air the series in most of Europe.

Six Minutes to Midnight sounds like it has an intriguing story line.
ReplyDeletewe certainly haven't seen it on the screens before
DeleteLooking forward to both of these!
ReplyDeleteagreed
DeleteI guess Judi Dench as a teacher of english (Thomas?!) didn't make it easy for the girls of those high ranking nazis. Dangerous job, dangerous situation, great actress!
ReplyDeleteThe story is actually set before the war, when the members of the German Nazi party were sending their daughters to UK to learn English where the teacher gradually realizes what is gonna happen and what the Nazis are actually planning.
DeleteOh I hope we get them both here!
ReplyDeleteI'm almost sure you won't get the second one :)
