  1. I'm not familiar with this book. But anything that won Hugo award is worth checking out.

To bad I don't feel the same way about Sci Fi productions. :(

  2. Ah, yes, the Sci Fi productions - usually a big disappointment.
I'm just hoping that this book is not too childish.

  3. The next HOLLYWOOD SPY update will be the 50th "Dezmond Exclusives" on this address, so I congratulate us all on this little jubilee :))))
It was about time that we get our own place after almost three or four years of movie blogging :)
    Love ya all :)

  4. I am glad to see I am not the only one who has been disappointed in Sci-Fi productions as of late. I am still upset by the fact they cancelled Farscape which was one of my favorite shows.

  5. I was mostly shocked and disappointed by their horrible and scandalous production of FLASH GORDON. It was a crime.

  6. farscape was great, but galactica is better ;)

  7. Not really, no. Galactica tried to emulate Farscape's dark and troubling atmosphere, "escape and chase" story, and use of "modified" curse words.

But somewhere in the conception, they forgot about creativity and any measure of humor or comic relief.

  8. :) I have to admit, but don't be angry with me, that both FARSCAPE and GALACTICA made me extremely sleepy whenever I tried to watch them :)

  9. There's no problem. :) Each of us has his unique taste and preferences.
I myself don't "pull any punches" regarding the things other people have great respect for. My reasoning is that it is more important to respect people themselves and basic/universal moral and ethical values, than to show same level of respect to certain things other people care about (if you don't share that same level of respect yourself).
It's logical, as Vulcans would say. :)

  11. I agree Marko and I am a big believer in everyone having their own opinion as well. What a boring world we would live in if everyone liked the exact same things.

  12. Amen, to that. Shells, we should send Marko to give a few preaches over at Movieweb :) since there we could find a lot of people who would benefit from these wise words.

  13. Read the book before you pass judgement on it on the fact it is in sci fi category. It is far from childish as it follows the life of a young girl named nell from childhood to adulthood in a world run by nanotechnology i would love to go into more depth on this astounding book (which is full of life lessons and many possibilities with futuristic technology which is well within our grasp in the next 30 to 50 years)but im afraid i will ruin the story for those who would read it or watch the show. also i apologize for my lack of grammar and proper spelling i can never bring myself to take it serious when i type in a "comment box". this book is far from the type of story like galactica and other current shows on sci fi channel

  15. FenrisZ, welcome to HOLLYWOOD SPY ;)
THE DIAMOND AGE sounds really nice from what you've just told us, and you made it even more interesting for us now. Thanks you for that.

You can't find a release date because it's in the prepreprepreproduction phase :)

Once more welcome to my blog, and don't be a stranger.
