I've seen this trailer on your you-tube page Dez. A few day ago. I was a little surprised to have found something like this on your page. It got me thinking... A genuine wuxia trailer? Dez was never interested in that genre before. Must've been those 300/Watchmen elements in this trailer. I hate to say it, but that's nothing new in wuxia (or eastern cinematography in general). Things like freeze-slow_it-then_continue action sequences and forcing of a single colour/palette in specific scene (or as Western cinematography likes so much - forcing lack of colours throught out the whole movie :)), those things are pretty common in Eastern cinema. They are the ones that "invented" it. just remember John Woo and his extensive use of slow motion.
I don't see anything special or unusual in Storm Warriors. Still, that doesn't mean it won't be a good movie. Storm riders franchise is still very popular in China and beyond. A few movies, comic book, animated movie, maybe even a TV series... Never got around to watch it, though.
:))) actually I've put that trailer on my channel because there's nothing interesting these days when it comes to new teasers, and this one is visually cool. Although I don't like (or understand) their stories and generally hate their actors, I've always liked the visual aspect of Asian movies.
GIVE SOME LOVE TO YOUR DEZZY :) DON'T FORGET THAT BLOGGER'S NEW COMMENT BOX OFTEN REQUIRES FOR YOU TO DISABLE PROTECTION ON YOUR BROWSER IN ORDER TO COMMENT.
