'HAN SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY'

I know that most of you weren't overly happy when Alden Ehrenreich was cast as the lead star in HAN SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY spin off movie, but you might be happy to hear that Me Before You and Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke has just been cast by Disney as the female lead in the movie which should fly into cinemas May 2018 on the Millennium Falcon.

As you know the movie will describe the young days of captain Han Solo and his trusted fury friend Chewbacca following their early adventures ten years before the story of the Star Wars movies started. Donald Glover has previously been cast as young Lando Calrissian, one of the smugglers from the galactic underworld who will later on become an important politician! It has been revealed that Han and Chewy will meet a dynamic cast of characters during their adventures! The Lego Movie's Phil Lord and Chris Miller are directing the film!

Meanwhile, Netflix has dropped the full trailer and poster for their A SERIES OF UNFORTUNATE EVENTS mini series which will be released around the world on January 13th! A small screen adaptation of Lemony Snicket book's it brings the tragic tale of the Baudelaire orphans, Violet, Klaus, and Sunny, whose evil guardian Count Olaf (Neil Patrick Harris) will stop at nothing to get his hands on their inheritance. The siblings must outsmart Olaf at every turn, foiling his many devious plans and disguises, in order to discover clues to their parents’ mysterious death. The eight episode series also stars Patrick Warburton, Joan Cusack, Malina Weissman and Louis Hynes.

If you're one of the few who enjoy mediaeval comedy musical series GALAVANT (which probably won't be renewed for third season anyway), you might be sad to hear that its lead star, also known as Kylie Minogue's decades younger boyfriend, Joshua Sasse has taken the lead male role in CW's pilot for NO TOMORROW series! As 'Deadline' reports it centres on a risk averse, straight arrow, female procurement manager (Tori Anderson) at an Amazon like distribution centre. She falls in love with a free wheeling man (Joshua Sasse), who lives life to the fullest because he believes the apocalypse is imminent, leading to comedic and poignant results as they embark on a quest together to fulfil their individual bucket lists!

In other TV news, something we announced earlier has been confirmed: Neil Patrick Harris will lead the cast of A SERIES OF UNFORTU- NATE EVENTS TV series at Netflix, as Count Olaf with Patrick Warburton playing Lemony Snicket! The eight episode series, to be directed by Barry Sonnenfeld, tells the tale of the orphaned children Violet (Malina Weissman), Klaus (Louis Hynes) and Sunny Baudelaire at the hands of the villainous Count Olaf (Harris), as they face trials and tribulations, misfortunes and an evil uncle in search of their fortune, all in their quest to uncover the secret of their parents’ deaths. You can watch Patrick Warburton this Sunday in his new NBC sitcom CROWDED too!

A really beautiful and truly gorgeous US trailer has been released for English version of ROBINSON CRUSOE animated movie titled THE WILD LIFE. In the English version the focus seems to entirely be on the wonderful little animals on the islands. Out in US cinemas this September it will be brought through the eyes of the hero’s quirky companions, from the over-exuberant parrot Tuesday to the snack-obsessed tapir Rosie, from the persnickety echidna Epi to the acrobatic pangolin Pango, from the ditzy goat Scrubby to the commonsensical kingfisher Kiki and the always-cool chameleon Carmello!

COUNT OLAF IN NETFLIX' NEW 'LEMONY SNICKET' SERIES?

Well, isn't this an absolute bliss? Everybody's favourite Neil Patrick Harris is in talks to take the role of crazy Count Olaf in Netflix new series adaptation of A SERIES OF UNFOR- TUNATE EVENTS after they find a new show runner since Mark Hudis has left the project. Famous LEMONY SNICKET children books follow the lives of orphaned siblings Violet, Klaus and Sunny Baudelaire as they try to find a guardian and stay out of the clutches of their evil Uncle Olaf, who wants to get his hands on their fortune. The 13 episode series could be directed by Brad Silberling who already helmed the same movie with Jim Carrey and Meryl Streep!

'WONDER WOMAN' MOVIE

FINDS ITS QUEEN OF AMAZONIANS   Meanwhile, beside the World War One setting being officially confirmed for WONDER WOMAN movie, Gal Gadot's Diana of Themyscira's has found her mother, Hippolyta the Queen of Amazonians in GLADIATOR's Connie Nielsen (who is, by the way, 50, not that the photo shows it). It has been revealed before that the movie, set in today's world, in WW1 and WONDER WOMAN's homeland, will  see Chris Pine playing her love interest Steve Trevor! Ewen Bremner, Robin Wright, David Thewlis, Danny Huston, Elena Anaya also star in Patty Jenkins helmed movie. There are also some gossips saying that Sean Bean could play the main villain Ares. The movie is out June next year.
