La Brea returns next Tuesday to NBC

One of the premieres that next week is bringing us is the return of NBC's adventure series LA BREA with the second season after the success of the first one last year which became the best watched new show of the season.The series follows an epic family adventure after a massive sinkhole opens in Los Angeles pulling people and buildings into a mysterious and dangerous primeval land where they have no choice but to band together to survive. 

 

STARTING SEPTEMBER 27TH

 which is next Tuesday, season two returns to the Harris family which remains separated as Eve (Natalie Zea) is reeling from her bratty son, Josh (Jack Martin), having mistakenly gone through a portal to 1988. What she doesn’t know yet is that her estranged husband, Gavin (Eoin Macken), and their daughter, Izzy (Zyra Gorecki), have landed in prehistoric Seattle and now must brave the elements and animals to make their way to L.A. The cast will see the return of Jon Seda, Nicholas Gonzalez, Chiké Okonkwo, Veronica St. Clair, Rohan Mirchandaney, Lily Santiago, Josh McKenzie, Tonantzin Carmelo, and Michelle Vergara Moore, with Martin Sensmeier as Taamet, the leader of The Exiles, a dangerous group of people living in 10,000 BC. Peacock has unveiled first photo and start date for their new series LAST LIGHT which will start September 8th with Matthew Fox as petro-chemist Andy Yeats who knows how dependent the world is on oil; if something were to happen to the world’s oil supply, it would set off a chain reaction: transportation would grind to a halt, supplies would cease to be delivered, law enforcement would be overwhelmed. While on a business trip to the Middle East, Andy realizes that his worst fears are coming true and his family is separated at this crucial moment. His teenage daughter, Laura, is alone at home in London while his wife, Elena, and young son, Sam, are in Paris. Amid this chaos, each family member will sacrifice everything to find one another, despite the distance and the dangers that separate them. 

  LA BREA SEASON 2  

TEASER AND AIR DATE

NBC has at the same time published first teaser for the second season of LA BREA series which returns September 27th with 14 episodes. Eoin Macken and Natalie Zea lead the series about a group of Los Angelenos who disappeared into a sinkhole and emerged 12,000 years into the past. In the new season some of the characters will time travel into some other period of the past which should make the plot more dynamic. The episodes will stream on Peacock after airing on NBC.

New issue of Empire will feature other never before seen images and stills from the new Avatar movie and it is out in newsstands next week. David Aplebaum's high end show uses the real life mystery of famous La Brea tar pit that exists in the middle of Los Angeles as the trigger for the story about a family which inexplicably finds themselves in a primeval world, along with a number of fraught strangers, when a massive sinkhole sinks a sizable chunk of Los Angeles deep into the Earth!

Emily Osment will return to the world of sitcoms after Young and Hungry in an currently untitled new multi camera sitcom which just got a ten episode order over at Netflix and Gregg Sulkin will take the male lead. This is not the first time two of them are working together. With Jack Dolgen and Doug Mand as the show creators, the new comedy revolves around a snooty, self proclaimed intellectual (Osment) forced to move in with her carefree sister and her sister’s lovably eccentric friends, one of them played by Gregg Sulkin. 

 

Emily Osment’s character in the new comedy series at Netflix, Chelsea, is an Ivy league educated intellectual who is book smart and quick witted but lacks the real world skills she needs to have a functional life.
