This January in their Winter Escape series of weekend movies, Hallmark is taking romance to exotic locations with some new films set in tropical locations. Among them is CAUGHT BY LOVE with our dearest Luke MacFarlane which premieres January 24th also starring Rachael Leigh Cook. While on a journey of self-discovery, a resort guest gets swept into an undercover investigation for stolen jewels that turns into an unexpected and adventurous romance. 

 

 

A Melbourne Match is on January 10th

A MELBOURNE MATCH

Taking us down under to Australia with our dear Ryan Corr in the lead role alongisde always lovely Mallory Jansen is A MELBOURNE MATCH which hits Hallmark Saturday evening January 10th. In this delightful and sun filled summery romance in the middle of winter she plays Georgie, a travel writer, who travels to Melbourne for an assignment where she meets Zach (Ryan Corr), an ex-Australian footballer who agrees to be her tour guide and shows her that there's more to life than work.

 

 

Lost in Paradise airs January 3rd

LOST IN PARADISE

The Winter Escape series will actually be launched January 3rd by LOST IN PARADISE which stars our dearest Ian Harding in the lead male role. Paul Hughes and James Trevena also star in this exotic romantic comedy in which Lacey Chabert plays the lead female role. When the founder of a high-end fashion company gets marooned on an "deserted" island with a chef, romance blossoms as they work together to survive. Love on the Amazon is on January 17th

LOVE ON THE AMAZON

Probably the most exotic of them all taking us all the way to the jungles of Amazon is LOVE ON THE AMAZON which will sail onto Hallmark Saturday January 17th with Jaicy Elliott and Rafael de la Fuente postraying the lead characters in this romantic adventure. She stars as Claire who travels to Brazil and hires Danny, a riverboat captain, to help her deliver an important message for her sister Amelia, a marine biologist studying pink dolphins on the Amazon River. Here is an unusual thing: this was originally announced as Hallmark Plus new series but will be first released on Netflix from December 3rd for the global audiences with Ian Harding leading the eight part RIPPLE. He stars together with Frankie Faison, Julia Chan and Sydney Agudong.

  New York City, the series follows the four, Walter (Faison), Kris (Chan), Nate (Harding) and Aria (Agudong), who have unknowingly crossed paths many times but never met. If you have already put yourself into the festive mood in the middle of November you will be delighted to hear that Hallmark + streamer which launched successfully in September has already put their first ever holiday series HOLIDAZED up for streaming and you can now enjoy first two of the eight episodes of the Christmas series which follows five families in Oak Bay, Oregon, who live on the same cul de sac, as they deal with the joys and stress of coming home for the holidays. Ian Harding, Virginia Madsen, Loretta Devine and John C. McGinley are just some of the names in the cast. 

THE LIMITED SERIES FOLLOWS

 six families from different backgrounds (white, black, Asian, gay), cultures, and generations, all living on the same cul-de-sac, as they gather for the holiday season. During a time when emotions are amplified, each family comes together to celebrate their unique, rich traditions and navigate family eccentricities that ultimately help them discover what they do have in common Love in all its different forms. A number of festive movies are coming these holidays to Netflix, and they will also bring Lindsay Lohan back to the streamer November 27th in OUR LITTLE SECRET in which her character finds herself trapped in exactly the type of holiday getaway she was hoping to avoid: a week with her ex-boyfriend. The bickering duo will have to learn to live with each other when they discover, well, an unfortunate little secret that sees them spending Christmas together.Two resentful exes are forced to spend Christmas under the same roof after discovering that their current partners are siblings. Meet Me Next Christmas arrives November 6th

We are looking into two festive films that will stream on Netflix these holidays, beginning with MEET ME NEXT CHRISTMAS a new romantic comedy movie with Christina Milian. The new movie, her third romantic film for the streamer, will arrive November 6th. In pursuit of a fairytale romance with the man of her dreams, Layla must race through New York City to get her hands on the hottest ticket in town: the sold-out Pentatonix Christmas Eve Concert. The film also stars Devale Ellis and Kofi Siriboe and Kalen Allen with the appearance of the Pentatonix as well. It is interesting that the film was shot long time ago (in spring last year), not sure why Netflix waited for so long to release it. 

  THE MERRY GENTLEMEN

Meanwhile, if you prefer sinfully hot hunks as your holiday treats, there will be plenty of those in THE MERRY GENTLEMEN which arrives to Netflix November 20th with Britt Robertson and Chad Michael Murray in the lead roles. To save her parents' small-town performing venue, a former big-city dancer decides to stage an all-male, Christmas-themed revue. Chad Michael Murray plays one of the dancers in the film that also has Beth Broderick, Michael Gross, Maxwell Caulfield, Hector David Jr., Colt Prattes and Marc Anthony Samuel in the cast. The story of a steamy musical revue that just might save Christmas was directed by Peter Sullivan (Secret Obsession) and written by Marla Sokoloff .

 

 

That Christmas will stream in December on Netflix

THAT CHRISTMAS ANIMATION 

For the kids there will also be an animated adventure movie THAT CHRISTMAS which arrives December 4th with Brian Cox lending his voice. In this comedy, a blizzard hits a seaside town, setting off entwined tales of family, friends, love and loneliness — and Santa making a big mistake. Richard Curtis directs based on his own trilogy of Christmas books for children. It is interesting that British pop sensation Ed Sheeran has written a special song Under the Tree especially for this movie so you can look forward to a nice tune as well.
