DALLIANCE TV SERIES
FROM AUSTRALIAN PARAMOUNT PLUS
Paramount + Australia has announced new six part series DALLIANCE about 60-somethings who refuse to be defined by their age. When charismatic ex-cameraman Billy (Hugo Weaving) meets restaurateur
Dani (Heather Mitchell) on a Sydney Harbour ferry, their worlds collide. The attraction is undeniable, and sparks might fly… if Billy wasn’t happily married to Rose (Georgie Parker), his wife of 40 years. Billy brings Dani home to meet Rose, triggering a series of life-changing events which have far reaching consequences. Their closest friends and family are impacted; intimate relationships are formed, and others shattered. Lies are told, memories are unreliable, and absolute truths are never known. David Wenham also stars in the series about a group of friends who have history encompassing love, rivalries, jealousy and passion, but most of all connection!

Why does one want to bring a new gal friend home to meet your wife?? That's just weird..
ReplyDeleteThat sounded strange to me as well, but maybe the wify has lesbie affinities and they like to swing-a-ling?
DeleteUna storia di sguardi sospesi, dove il desiderio diventa un gioco sottile che sfiora senza mai afferrare.
ReplyDeleteBuon sabato
Buon sabato, Silvia
DeleteTo be honest, these kinds of plots with the usual jealousy and drama are starting to feel like the same wine in a different bottle. We’ve seen it all before.
ReplyDeleteHowever, what really catches my eye is exactly what you mentioned: it’s great to see a show about people in their sixties that isn’t just about retirement or being grandparents. That fresh perspective, along with such a strong cast, is enough to keep me curious. I’m looking forward to seeing whether it truly brings something new to the table.
It is true that most of todays books and films and shows are repetitive, but what usually differentiates Australian ones is that they make them very emotional, intimate and deeply psychological. And they make them to start conversations in society, like in this one, this might start a dialogue about whether people are allowed love lives after certain age. I watch all Australian series and have never seen a bad one, some are better, some weaker, but they are always worth watching.
DeleteI’m really glad you told me that. I can see you’re a great series critic, so I truly value your judgment. You’ve explained it brilliantly, so I’ll try to follow your approach here and with anything else you recommend. Thank you very much
DeleteIf you click on the AUSTRALIAN label above it will open all the Australian series we have written about so far, and almost all of them were great, actually my fave series of all times THE NEWSREADER is Australian with Sam Reid and Anna Torv, it ended last year with the third, final season.
DeleteBilly and his wife Rose weren't happy. I think they were probably considering divorce, so he brought Dani home to meet his wife.
ReplyDeleteBut whom will she make happy, Rose or Billy, that is the question? We must wait and see LOL
DeleteWho brings another woman home to their wife? Unless she’s coming to clean my house or help me with laundry, I’m not treating her like a found puppy. Keep walking, lady.
ReplyDeleteMaybe Rose loves some hot sister love in her bed next to Billy LOL There are those two idiots, husband and wife that have a show on TLC about their life with their Mexican girlfriend...
DeleteI don't understand the obsession with those kinds of reality shows. Allison and I watch baking competitions, but those messed up relationship and family ones are weird to me.
DeleteI follow the TLC page on Facebook, I don't watch the channel itself, it seems most of their shows now are about some crazy couples and freaks. I only like Theresa Caputo's show there.
