BLACK NARCISSUS EPIC SERIES TRAILER WITH GEMMA ARTERTON, ALESSANDRO NIVOLA, DIANA RIGG, JIM BROADBENT! SARAH SNOOK TO LEAD JANE AUSTEN'S PERSUASION MOVIE ADAPTATION

SARAH SNOOK TO LEAD
NEW JANE AUSTEN MOVIE
We watched Sarah in Dressmaker
Although latest adaptation of Emma wasn't an overly successful affair (but it did have brilliant visuals), a new Jane Austen movie is in works! As Hollywood Reporter informs, Sarah Snook (who was nominated for an Emmy for her role in Succession TV series and we watched her in Kate Winslet's amazing Australian movie Dressmaker) will lead new movie version of her final novel PERSUASION
To be directed by Mahalia Belo, it is a romance of second chances, telling the story of Anne Elliot who, many years after refusing the proposal of young naval officer Frederick Wentworth, finds herself navigating the waters of English society when Wentworth returns from war a wealthy and decorated captain. As Anne ponders missed opportunities, she must consider her own regrets and unwavering, possibly unrequited love. Are you excited about the new adaptation? The lead is certainly a talented actress and a gorgeous woman.

  1. Black Narcissus sounds like something that's done before when I first started reading its description, but it does sound unique towards the end. I haven't canceled Hulu yet, so I'll be on the lookout for it.

    1. I was disturbed with the scene in which she shaves her hair off!

  3. I would watch both of these, but Persuasion takes the win for me. I believe I told you before how much I love Jane Austen's novels. They remind me of novelas, just in an ancient time period. When we were touring a mansion in Rhode Island last week, I did a historical walk of the grounds and pretended that I was Elizabeth Bennet taking a stroll through the garden. (I even spoke in a British accent just to embarrass my daughter LOL).

    1. Unlike you, I cannot stand Austen. I was massively pissed at college for having to study her as I don't consider her a classic writer but a cheap weekend novel scribe. Have you seen last Emma movie?

    2. Lol, she did get one thing right. Those “walks in the garden” are great exercise. I always thought, how many laps around the yard did they have to make. After seeing that mansion, it easily took me 30 minutes to walk the perimeter of the property! I haven’t seen it yet, but I will.

    3. You probably should, but it is very unusual... not necessarily in a bad way.

  4. Then I've probably seen the classic and forgot all about it. It was really sounding like something I've definitely been familiar with before. My age is showing, I suppose, as I tend to forget a lot of things these days.

    1. It was with Deborah Kerr, deary. Won some Oscars too. I usually forget items from my shopping list but only when they ruin my usual routine at the shop, like when they are staffing goods in the stalls just when I am there so I cannot pick what I need and have to buy things outside at the greengrocers. I will forget bananas or lemons then. It is a tragedy for me as I don't live without them bananas and lemons and oranges.
