'THE WHEEL OF TIME' EPIC
ADAPTATION ADS NEW FACES
While The Witcher is currently enjoying a massive success at Netflix, there are other epic shows to look forward to next year. Rival Amazon
is preparing an epic TV series adaptation of Robert Jordan's saga THE WHEEL OF TIME and now they've added new names to the cast that is to be led by Rosamund Pike! New additions are Priyanka Bose, Taylor Napier and Emmanuel Imani.
Taylor Napier will be Maksim in the series |
Set in a sprawling, epic world where magic exists and only certain
women are allowed to access it, the story follows Moiraine (Pike), a
member of the incredibly powerful all female organization called the Aes
Sedai, as she arrives in the small town of Two Rivers. There, she
embarks on a dangerous, world spanning journey with five young men and
women, one of whom is prophesied to be the Dragon Reborn, who will
either
save or destroy humanity.
Priyanka Bose has joined the cast |
Priyanka Bose will play Alanna Mosvani, a member of the same organization of powerful women as Moiraine. She’s renowned for both her kindness and her temper. And instead of having one Warder like Moiraine, she has two — Ihvon (Imani) and Maksim (Napier). The three of them have a complicated relationship built on love, sex and respect that welds them into a fearsome force in battle. I previously informed you that the cast will also have Madeleine Madden, Marcus Rutherford, Barney Harris, Zoë Robins and Josha Stradowski.
I enjoyed the books and if done well this could make an awesome series!
ReplyDeleteI hear the readers already think it will be filled with feminist agenda which apparently isn't so present in the books.
DeleteThe last Amazon show that I watched was Man in the High Castle. It started off so good and then gave us 3 seasons of disappointment. Hopefully this doesn't follow that trend.
ReplyDeleteI tried reading that book and couldn't go pass the second page LOL
Deleteif all else fails, at least they have a pretty cast :P
ReplyDeleteHope it won't be too tweensy.
DeleteIt probably will. Seems like that's what has been pushed at us a lot these past few years.
DeleteI did notice the fans of the books are not happy with the casting and the PC agenda in it.
DeleteI'm sure. Twisted is the name of the game lately. I wish they would quit trying to put their own spin on works that people grew to love on their own. When they change it, it is usually trash. Stop messing with stuff, people!
DeleteYes, BBC did the PC shit with all their series this season and they all had terrible ratings. His Dark Materials lost millions of viewers after the first episode, War of the Worlds too, Christmas Carol lost 40% of viewers in the second episode and I'm sure Dracula won't do any better either. It was such a ghastly bad season that I'm filled with fear as I mostly rely on BBC dramas. They are forced by the government to put PC crap in their programmes, othervise they don't get funds.
DeleteIt's sad they aren't figuring out that we don't want that crap shoved down our throats and that's why viewership is down. Oh well. Gives me more time to read books instead of staring at the tube.
DeleteI'm very afraid for the future of television and cinema too.
