'CONAN' TV SERIES
The epic TV treat of the day are news coming from Amazon who are developing an epic series on CONAN The Barbarian based on Robert E. Howard's famous comic books! The series comes from Ryan Condal, Game of Thrones director Miguel Sapochnik and Handmaid's Tale producer Warren Littlefield.
Returning to the original story from the comic books, CONAN will see
the title epic hero driven out of his tribal homelands and wandering the
mysterious and treacherous world of civilization where he searches for
purpose in a place that rejects him as a mindless savage. As you know,
Amazon has recently paid massive bucks for Lord of the Rings TV series
rights and is obviously venturing into epic fantasy waters.

Kade Wise will be a Muslim preacher rapper |
Chet Hanks will play a new rapper in Empire called Blake |
I wonder if Arnold Schwarzenegger will have a cameo in the remake of "Conan the Barbarian"?
ReplyDeleteNo, he is doing some Wild West epic series for Amazon in another production in which he will play a sheriff or something.
DeleteWasn't there a Conan series in the 80's or 90's? I vaguely recall my mom watching something along those lines back then.
ReplyDeletemovies, I don't remember series, there was a Conan movie about ten years ago with Jason Momoa
DeleteI just looked it up, there was one in the 90's that only lasted 2 seasons. Was low budget and never gained a following.
Deletethere was a point back in the late 90s early 00s when sword and sorcery series, the low budget ones, were a thing, I loved them as a kid, even XENA, HERCULES and SINBAD.
DeleteXena is still one of my favorites. Just rewatched the whole series on Netflix not that long ago. :)
Delete~Jess
they tried to reboot the series last year, I don't know if that project is still alive :)
DeleteI'm going to have to see if Xena is back on Netflix. I was bummed when they took it off because it was one of those older shows I wanted to catch up on. If not, maybe Amazon has it. Netflix is notorious for removing the good shows. I was so pissed when I got halfway through Chuck and they took it off, then again halfway through Bones and boom. Gone again. Dirty bastards drawing me into a series then snatching it away :(
Deletedo they at least announce when something will be taken off?
DeleteConan? A legend never dies...
ReplyDeleteas long as history lives
DeleteLotR series, huh? That could be good or bad.
ReplyDeleteHundreds of millions worth, they wouldn't dare to make it bad :) It will be the most expensive series ever, and I mean EVAH!
DeleteConan and LotR? Crazy. My problem with all these epic TV shows is that everything ends up being TV-MA, and I don't watch shows unless the whole family can watch them...which means no TV-MA. *shrugs*
ReplyDeleteSurely, the whole family could watch LOTR!
