INSPIRING NEW SONGS: ANASTACIA'S 'STARING AT THE SUN', HEARTWARMING 'SUPERHEROES' FROM IRISH BAND THE SCRIPT, POWERFUL 'LULLABY' FROM PROFESSOR GREEN & TORY KELLY!

ANASTACIA IS
STARING AT THE SUN!
Continuing our tradition of spotlighting some fresh new music at the end of the week, today I'm playing some inspiring new pop tunes for you, starting with one of the best pop vocals in music history, magnificent Anastacia who returned to the music scene earlier this year with the new album RESURRECTION (this is what her name means in Greek) after battling two cancers in recent years. STARING AT THE SUN is her second single from the album with the video shot as a short artsy movie with Anastacia appearing only in glimpses (if I got it right she suffered hernia and couldn't be at the set).

THE SCRIPT
HOW SUPERHERO LEARNS TO FLY
My favourite band in the world (after One Republic), brilliant Irish trio The Script, have released the first single from their new album NO SOUND WITHOUT SILENCE, and as always the song, titled SUPERHEROES, has outstandingly inspiring lyrics:
When you've been fighting for it all your life
You've been struggling to make things right
That’s how a superhero learns to fly
Every day, every hour Turn the pain into power!
Unlike most of todays trashy videos with empty glitz, Danny O'Donoghue and the guys have shot the video in African slums celebrating everyday heroes who rise when it is the toughest.

PROFESSOR GREEN
SING ME THE LAST LULLABY
And the last song today comes from British musician Professor Green whom you know as the author of one of the most powerful pop songs in last few decades, the Olympic anthem READ ALL ABOUT IT which he did with Emeli Sande. His new song is called LULLABY and the chorus in it is sung by Tory Kelly. The song is taken from his upcoming album GROWING UP IN PUBLIC.
All the time I have layed in your love
When your love kept me safe through the night
All the time I was sure you were mine
And before time demands our goodbye
Can you sing me a last lullaby?

    1. the best band in Europe, Fran! I'm very proud of them... in today's world of absolute trash and superficiality, they bring in the depth, message and love

  3. Staring at the Sun was certainly an interesting video. I'm not quite sure what the point of those guns was, but I guess most music videos don't make a lot of sense. ;0)

    1. I didn't quite get it either :) and the fans seems to be angry that dearest Anastacia wasn't featured much in it, but so many stars have been having problems with their management recently and with their labels...

  4. Anastacia means resurrection... I had no idea. But from now on I've always known this.

The Olympic anthem... What's that? See, I don't know anything about the Olympics. I feel so strangely uninformed.

I've learned the meaning of her name yesterday too :)
READ ALL ABOUT IT was the main song sung at the London Olympics, you should read its lyrics because they're absolutely brilliant!

    3. You've got the words to change a nation
      But you're biting your tongue
You've spent a life time stuck in silence
      Afraid you'll say something wrong
If no one ever hears it how we gonna learn your song?

      So come on, come on
      Come on, come on

You've got a heart as loud as lions
So why let your voice be tamed?
      Maybe we're a little different
There's no need to be ashamed
You've got the light to fight the shadows
      So stop hiding it away

      Come on, come on

I wanna sing, I wanna shout
I wanna scream 'til the words dry out
So put it in all of the papers,
      I'm not afraid
They can read all about it
      Read all about it, oh
      Oh-oh-oh
      Oh-oh-oh
      Oh-oh-oh
      Oh-oh-oh
      Oh-oh-oh
      Oh-oh-oh

At night we're waking up the neighbours
While we sing away the blues
Making sure that we're remembered, yeah
      Cause we all matter too
If the truth has been forbidden
Then we're breaking all the rules

      So come on, come on
      Come on, come on,

Let's get the TV and the radio
      To play our tune again
It's 'bout time we got some airplay of our version of events
There's no need to be afraid
I will sing with you my friend

      Come on, come on

I wanna sing, I wanna shout
I wanna scream 'til the words dry out
So put it in all of the papers,
      I'm not afraid
They can read all about it
      Read all about it, oh
      Oh-oh-oh
      Oh-oh-oh
      Oh-oh-oh
      Oh-oh-oh
      Oh-oh-oh
      Oh-oh-oh

Yeah, we're all wonderful, wonderful people
So when did we all get so fearful?
Now we're finally finding our voices
So take a chance, come help me sing this
Yeah, we're all wonderful, wonderful people
So when did we all get so fearful?
And now we're finally finding our voices
Just take a chance, come help me sing this

I wanna sing, I wanna shout
I wanna scream 'til the words dry out
So put it in all of the papers,
      I'm not afraid
They can read all about it
      Read all about it, oh
      Oh-oh-oh
      Oh-oh-oh
      Oh-oh-oh
      Oh-oh-oh
      Oh-oh-oh
      Oh-oh-oh

I wanna sing, I wanna shout
I wanna scream 'til the words dry out
So put it in all of the papers,
      I'm not afraid
They can read all about it
      Read all about it, oh

  6. Ooh! Very good song by The Script. I love most of their music too. Mariah got to see them a few years back in concert. She went with her friends and I was so jealous!

    2. I saw my daughter making fun of Iggy's songs on Twitter the other day. She is certainly not a fan. She's more into emo, lesser known bands right now.

    3. that is good. Have you seen new video with Azalea and J.Lo? That and Minaj's ANACONDA are pure porn.... Now, I have absolutely nothing against porn... it's a pure delight :)... but porn should stick to porn... not be used in other professions.... I really hate the current decade....
