In our spotlight yesterday you saw some of the new comedy shows which will arrive to the small screens either this summer or in the Fall season, and today you can check out the second part of the spotlight focusing on other networks! Probably one of the headliners will be CBS's hilarious new sitcom THE ODD COUPLE which is actually a remake of Neil Simon's classic 1965 play! The comedy, reimagined for the small screens, will star Matthew Perry from FRIENDS and Tom Lennon from SEAN SAVES THE WORLD in the lead roles! Perry portrays slobbish messy Oscar Madison and Lennon is uptight neat freak Felix Unger. They are two former college friends who are simultaneously watching their marriages go down the toilet. Oscar lets Felix move in, which at first seems like a bad decision, but it soon becomes clear that they're able to cope better together than apart because opposites do attract!

THE MCCARTHYS

GAY SON OF IRISH CATHOLICS
Also starting at CBS this Fall will be THE MCCARTHYS following Ronny, the gay son (Tyler Ritter) of a sports-crazed Irish-Catholic family in Boston who decides to move out of the three-story  house the family all shares together and strike out on his own. Jack McGee, Laurie Metcalf, Joey McIntyre, Jimmy Dunn, Kelen Coleman also star!

TAKE A 'SELFIE'!

KAREN GILLAN AND JOHN CHO

Meanwhile, over at ABC they will take a SELFIE!  This new sitcom will star Dr. Who's Karen Gillan as a woman who is famous on Instagram but, after having a change of heart, hires a marketing guru (STAR TREK's John Cho) to teach her how to become less dependent on technology and live life offline.

WEIRD LONERS

RELATIONSHIPPHOBIC PEOPLE!
Fox will introduce us to the WEIRD LONERS a six-episode comedy about four relationship-phobic people who are thrown into each other's lives when they all wind up sharing a townhouse together and growing as humans. Zachary Knighton, Becki Newton, Nate Torrence, Meera Rohit Kumbhani are starring!

THE LAST MAN ON EARTH

 POSTAPOCALYPTIC COMEDY

Also airing at Fox will be THE LAST MAN ON EARTH, an extremely unique apocalyptic comedy with Will Forte portraying an average guy, Phil Miller, who in the year 2022, becomes the last human alive on earth and spends his days completely alone searching the earth for another human. NBC will also bring us hilarious romantic comedy A TO Z of love in which Cristin Milioti (HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER) and Ben Feldman (MAD MEN, LIVING WITH FRAN) play the lead roles. Ben Feldman plays a guy who works at a dating site and Cristin Milioti is a customer who ends up meeting him when she comes into the office after a glitch with the site.

UNBREAKABLE KIMMY SCHMIDT

 Sometime in the midseason NBC will bring us UNBREAKABLE KIMMY SCHMIDT in which  Ellie Kemper plays an upbeat woman who leaves a religious cult and discovers the  joys of her freedom in New York City, where she becomes roommates with a gay aspiring Broadway actor and gets hired as a nanny by a rich woman (Jane Krakowski)!

Two TV trailers for you today, starting with a rather intriguing teaser for Elizabeth Hurley's new TV show THE ROYALS, the first scripted show at E! which will air in 2015!  It centres on Prince Liam (William Moseley), who is thrust in the spotlight after his older brother, the beloved Prince Robert, is killed in a military training accident. Liam is in love with a young American woman, Ophelia, the daughter of the royal family’s head of security who is studying art history and dance and who helps him cope with the loss of his brother and his new position as the next King of England. But her secret romance with Liam will bring her into conflict with the Queen (Elizabeth Hurley). Vincent Regan plays the king!

In movie news, 'Variety' reports that famous comedian Jason Sudeikis, who became father for the first time with Olivia Wilde a month ago, and Alison Brie have taken the lead roles in SLEEPING WITH OTHER PEOPLE! The story of the romantic comedy will revolve around a womanizer (Jason Sudeikis) and a serial cheater (Alison Brie) who form a platonic friendship in an effort to curb their unfaithful ways. Adam Scott, Amanda Peet, Jason Mantzoukas and Natasha Lyonne will appear in supporting roles.

IN  'THE FLASH' TV SHOW TRAILER

CW has released extended trailer for their Fall 2014 new show THE FLASH and it looks rather fun so check it out below. After witnessing his mother's murder, and his father wrongly accused, Barry Allen  (Grant Gustin): is taken in by Detective West and his family. Becoming a forensic scientist, Allen tries to uncover the truth about his mother's murder, which leads him to Harrison Wells' particle accelerator. When the accelerator causes an explosion, Allen is struck by lightning, and enters a coma. When he wakes up, he learns he has the ability to move at superhuman speeds, though he is not the only meta-human created in the wake of the explosion.

According to 'Deadline' the fact-based WWII story will follow German parents who, after their son is killed on the front lines, begin anti-Hitler postcards hammering his evil regime. It becomes a cat and mouse game to stay a step ahead of the Gestapo. Emma Thompson will also star in A WALK IN THE WOODS, in which Robert Redford portrays a travel writer, reconnecting with an old friend (Nick Nolte) during a 2,000-mile hike along the Appalachian Trail.

Continuing our announcements of new programmes coming to the small screens, here are some of the fresh sitcoms ordered by networks: USA Network has ordered MAJORDOMO sitcom which puts a longtime friendship to the test when Danny Perkins (UGLY BETTY's Michael Urie), a struggling documentarian, becomes a personal assistant to his friend Anna Grant, an unlucky in love real estate heiress with a floundering career.
SF 'COLONY' SHOW
USA Network will also make COLONY into sf series produced by Carlton Cuse (LOST): the story is set in the very near future – 2015 – in Los Angeles, which is occupied by aliens with whom some humans collaborate and benefit from the new order, while others rebel and suffer the consequences.
JANE KRAKOWSKI IN NEW SITCOM
Meanwhile, over at NBC they're bringing always delightful Jane Krakowski (30 ROCKS, ALLY MCBEAL) back on television: she will star in their new sitcom UNBREAKABLE KIMMY SCHMIDT  in which THE OFFICE's Ellie Kemper will play Kimmy, a woman who decides to claim back her life after 15 years in a cult. Jane Krakowski will play a recurring role of a rich Upper West Side mother who hires Kimmy as a nanny.

And here's a trailer for my ladies - boasting some of the hottest young hunks in the cast: THE RIOT CLUB stars Sam Claflin, Douglas Boot and Max Irons! Opening in British cinemas this September  the movie focuses on the fictional elite Oxford University dining  society, dubbed the Riot Club, which holds clandestine meetings in a private room at a pub.Irons and Claflin play two first year students determined to join the infamous club. The cast also includes Sam Reid, Ben Schnetzer, Holliday Grainger, Jessica Brown Findlay and Freddie Fox.

Another brilliant ensemble will be seen in the animated version of famous THE CANTERVILLE GHOST by Oscar Wilde. Toby Jones will star in this one, lending his voice together with Stephen Fry, Hugh Laurie,  Imelda Staunton, Freddie Highmore and Miranda Hart! In this animated feature, Stephen Fry plays Sir Simon de Canterville who has been haunting his ancestral home in rural England for over 300 years, scaring off tenants with ease and aplomb — until the Otis family moves in from America.
MAGGIE SMITH 'LADY IN THE VAN'
Meanwhile, Maggie Smith will take the lead role in THE LADY IN THE VAN,  a movie about a playwright and his experiences with Miss Shepherd, a vagrant who parked her old van in his driveway and stayed there for shocking 15 years.
LIAM HEMSWORTH JOINS KATE WINSLET IN 'THE DRESS MAKER'
Yet another great movie to gain new cast members is Kate Winslet's THE DRESSMAKER which now also has Liam Hemsworth, Isla Fisher and Judy Davis in the cast! This Australian movie will see Kate Winslet playing an avenging angel who returns home to the remote country town from which she fled as a child after being accused of murder, to make amends with her eccentric mother. Although ostracized at first, she liberates and empowers the town’s women with her quick wit and beautiful clothing, also finding love, and ultimately exacts sweet revenge on those who wronged her.

 IN 'THE BLUNDERER' THRILLER

In casting news today, one of our favourite thespians Patrick Wilson will topline the cast of THE BLUNDERER, the big screen adaptation of Patricia Highsmith's bestselling novel! The movie will also have Jessica Biel, Imogen Poots and Toby Jones in the ensemble! The story is set in early 1960s New York, following Walter Stackhouse (Wilson),  a successful architect married to the beautiful Clara (Biel) and leading a charmed and perfect life. But his fascination with an unsolved murder leads him into a spiral of chaos as he is forced to play cat-and-mouse with a clever killer (Jones) and an over-ambitious detective. Walter’s obsession, his lies and his lust for another woman (Poots) will collide in a crush of guilt, innocence and, ultimately, fate.

One of the fresh pieces of news this weekend is that in the process of ordering and cancelling new projects, ABC has picked up their unique GALAVANT pilot into whole series! This original mixture of historical sitcom with adventure action and even musical elements will be produced by Dan Fogelman (TANGLED) with famous Alan Menken (THE LITTLE MERMAID, ALADDIN, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST) writing the songs! Once upon a time, the dashing hero, Galavant (Joshua Sasse) lost the love of his life, Madalena (Mallory Jansen), to the evil King Richard (Timothy Omundson). Now, our fallen hero is ready to take revenge and restore his “happily ever after.” But it won’t be without a few twists and turns along the way. Beside Joshua Sasse,  Timothy Omundson will play King Richard, with Vinnie Jones, Mallory Jansen, Karen David and Luke Youngblood also in the cast.

CW has also decided to renew THE 100 and REIGN and to cancel TOMORROW PEOPLE and STARCROSSED, NBC has officially cancelled DRACULA and REVOLUTION, while ABC has ordered Tim Allen's LAST MAN STANDING for fourth season and Ryan Phillippe's SECRETS & LIES into series! Robin Williams' THE CRAZY ONES has been killed over at CBS along with Toni Collette's HOSTAGES but they did pick up Matthew Perry's THE ODD COUPLE sitcom!

IOAN GRUFFUDD TO BE IMMORTAL IN ABC'S 'FOREVER' SHOW
ABC has also ordered FOREVER into series!  Doctor Henry Morgan (Ioan Gruffudd), New York City’s star medical examiner doesn’t just study the dead to solve criminal cases, he does it to solve the mystery that has eluded him for 200 years — the answer to his own  inexplicable immortality. This long life has given Henry remarkable observation skills which impresses his new partner Detective Jo Martinez (Alana De La Garza). Each week, a new case and their budding friendship will reveal layers of Henry’s long and colorful past.

The six hour mini series will be produced by Tom Hanks and Brad Pitt  telling the story of America’s first contact with the land and native tribes of the country west of the Mississippi River. It chronicles the epic journey of the Corps of Discovery and its captains Meriwether Lewis (Affleck) and William Clark traversing uncharted territory on a mission to deliver President Jefferson’s message of sovereignty as they search for his fabled all-water route to the Pacific.
