Our dearest Ewan McGregor has a new gig: according to 'Coming Soon' he will take the lead role in AMERICAN PASTORAL and he will dye his hair blonde for the part. The movie adaptation of Philip Roth's bestselling novel will be directed by another Philip - Philip Noyce. Ewan will portray Seymour 'Swede' Levov, a blonde Jewish businessman living in Newark, New Jersey, whose ordinary life is disturbed by the chaos of the 1960s under the presidency of JFK's successor Lyndon B Johnson.

In next two years you will watch our dearest Scottish star in BORN TO BE KING next to Kate Hudson as an extra on a film set who shares a striking resemblance to a movie star. Here's a lovely piece of TV news: Meryl Streep is returning to HBO after their brilliant cooperation on famous ANGELS IN AMERICA series. Mike Nichols, who helmed ANGELS, will now direct her again in MASTER CLASS, a mini series on famous opera singer Maria Callas. The project follows Callas in the 1970s as she takes charge of a number of lessons at Juilliard School in New York City. The singer then begins to reminisce about her career and personal life.
MARTIN SHEEN IS JANE FONDA'S GAY HUSBAND
Acting legends will be seen in new 13 episode sitcom at Netflix FRANKIE AND GRACE in which Martin Sheen has just joined the lead stars Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin. Coming from  FRIENDS co-creator Marta Kauffman, the comedy series follows two long-time rivals who are stunned when their husbands declare their love for each other. The women, much to their dismay, find that their lives are permanently intertwined and, much to their surprise, find they have each other. Sheen will play Fonda's husband.

TV SAGA ON 17TH CENTURY TURKISH 'KOSEM SULTANA'

One of the most watched shows around the world, lavish and intricately written Turkish historical saga THE MAGNIFICENT CENTURY on Sultan Suleyman and his wife sultana Hurrem ended for good last week after jawdropping 139 two hour long episodes and four years of airing, but as I told you before Tims Production, who made the show, are ready for another one: in September 2015 they will start airing KOSEM SULTANA epic show and you can watch the first teaser below. It is just a promo teaser, the actors haven't been chosen so far and the shooting hasn't begun yet either. But there are rumours from Istanbul that the lead role will go to Turkish star Beren Saat!

DEZZY'S HISTORY LESSON
Kosem Sultana, also known as Mahpeyker Sultana (the name means Moon Shaped), was one of the most powerful women in Ottoman history, favourite wife of Ottoman Sultan Ahmed I  from the early 17th century. She achieved power and influenced the politics of the Ottoman Empire through her husband, then through her sons Murad IV and Ibrahim I and finally through her grandson Mehmed IV. She was a prominent figure during the Sultanate of Women (which started with the rule of Hurem Sultana). She was official regent twice and was thereby one of only two women to have been formal rulers of the Ottoman Empire. She came to the sultan's palace in Istanbul as a 15 year old slave girl, but quickly became influential in the harem. It is believed that in the end she was killed by her own daughter in law, sultana Turhan, because she wanted to put another of her grandsons on the throne. Kösem was renowned for her charity work and for freeing her slaves after 3 years of service.

It seems he is returning to the kitchen, since he will play the lead role in CHEF a movie to be directed by John Wells (SHAMELESS, AUGUST OSAGE COUNTY). The film will see him playing a CHEF who loses his restaurant in the French capital Paris and decides to start from scratch in  London by opening the best restaurant ever. Omar Sy and Sienna Miller will also star! Bradley Cooper is lending his voice to the Rocket Raccoon in GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY this July and later this year you will also watch him and Jennifer Lawrence, Blake Ritson and Sam Reid in  SERENA.

The movie won't be a horror but an epic adventure following the historical Prince Vlad Tepes once a proud nobleman who becomes the infamous killer after Turkish sultan Mehmed (Dominic Cooper) kills his wife Mirena (Sarah Gadon) and his kids. Speaking of things historical, The Hollywood Reporter writes that Adrien Brody and John Cusack have joined Jackie Chan's new historical adventure DRAGON BLADE in which they will play Roman soldiers! The $65 million movie (which makes it the most expensive Chinese language film ever) will be helmed by Daniel Lee and is inspired by a missing legion of Roman soldiers that travelled into China in 48 BCE. Cusack plays Lucius, a Roman general who led a legion of a 1,000 soldiers into Han Dynasty China. Adrien Brody will play Tiberius, who has assassinated Rome's Consul Crassus and chased after Lucius with a force of 100,000 soldiers. Chan stars as the Commander of the Protectorate of the Western Regions who teams up with Lucius to protect China's borders and sovereignty. To be released next February on Chinese Lunar New Year, the movie is inspired by the documented evidence of Roman descendants and Roman ruins in Liqian village in Northwest China's Gansu province during the Han Dynasty.

In 1963, the U.S. government launched a covert space mission sending hundreds of men, women and children on a century-long voyage aboard the starship ASCENSION to populate a new world. Our dearest and most beloved British superstar Tom Hiddleston will show you his brilliant singing voice in a new movie: according to 'Deadline' he will play country music legend Hank Williams in I SAW THE LIGHT biopic. The film will tell the story of Williams’ meteoric rise to fame, and the price that fame took on his personal life. He died at age 29 of heart failure and is famous for hits such as "Your Cheatin’ Heart", "I’m So Lonesome I Could Cry" and "Hey Good Lookin". Hiddles is currently finishing Guillermo del Toro's CRIMSON PEAK which, set in Cumbria, in a crumbling mansion in a largely rural and mountainous region of northern England in the 19th century, follows young author Edith Cushing (Mia Wasikowska) who discovers that her charming new husband Sir Thomas Sharpe (Hiddleston) is not who he appears to be.

It will be a big screen adaptation of Milena Agus’ bestselling eponymous novel set after WWII, in which the stories spans 20 years, following the destiny of a passionate, free-spirited woman who is in a loveless marriage and falls for another man. Marion is also lending her voice together with James Franco and Jeff Bridges, Benicio Del Toro, Ricky Gervais and Paul Giamatti in THE LITTLE PRINCE animated movie about a pilot who crashes in the desert and meets a little boy from a distant planet.

'THE CHOICE' MOVIE ADAPTATION
Only last week we've seen the first trailer for the big screen adaptation of Nicholas Sparks's novel THE BEST OF ME, and now the news is that his book THE CHOICE has been sold for an adaptation too! Lionsgate will make a movie out of his 2007 bestseller which tells the story of a long love affair that begins when the couple first met as neighbours in a small coastal town and end up pursuing a relationship that neither could have foreseen. It spans a decade and traces the evolution of a love affair that is ultimately tested by life’s most defining events. A movie on Sparks' THE LONGEST RIDE novel is already in works following a story of a man who is dying in a car crash. As he remembers his old love while dying, another love story between a young couple goes on nearby.

The news over from the Isles today is that BBC has axed CRIMSON FIELD World War I series which won't be getting the second season, but BBC is preparing other series this Autumn based on the Great War. THE PASSING BELLS will be a five part series in which the conflict of the First World War unfolds through the eyes of two very ordinary young men, both of whom have enlisted in a war they expect will be over within months. Jack Lowden and Paddy Gibson will play the two young men for whom the war has little mercy, no matter which side they might be fighting for. Over five chronological years, we follow their lives as they grow up, lose friends and find love amid the horrors of the war. The story looks at all aspects of the war – from the families left behind to the strategic decisions by politicians and generals that led to unimaginable bloodshed and the tragedy of the trenches.

Sony Pictures Animation is preparing a new animated movie for us: Emmy winning Lauren Faust will direct MEDUSA a hilarious story of the infamous snake-haired mythological lady! It will be a clever, heartfelt animated comedy about a girl who's having the ultimate bad hair day. Scheduled for 2017 it will follow MEDUSA as a young human, who is overwhelmed with trying to fit a certain mold to please others. Her resulting popularity ticks off the wrong Goddess who turns her into the snake-haired monster. MEDUSA sets out on a quest to reverse this curse with the help of a goofy team of oddball and misfit mythological creatures who help her learn that what makes you different is, in fact, what makes you strong.
