Netflix has announced cast for their first New Zealand eight part original series QUEENSTOWN. This is the official synopsis released by the streamer: Beneath the glamour of Queenstown’s luxury ski scene, a privileged family and the people who work for them collide over power, loyalty and desire. Australian star Guy Pearce plays Thomas Munro, a lay
preacher who arrives at a British settlement in 1830s New Zealand. His
violent past is soon drawn into question and his faith put to the test,
as he finds himself caught in the middle of a bloody war between Māori
tribes. It speaks of the early contact between Europeans and Maori, when
European settlers were outnumbered by several hundred to one and Māori
had just acquired muskets. Tamahori and Pearce have been planning to
work together for nearly twenty years now. Jacqueline McKenzie, Antonio
Te Maioha, Te Kohe Tuhaka, Dean O'Gorman also star in the film out next

The series, which is not directly connected to the film of the same name and is instead an expansion of the world depicted in said film, is produced by GFC Films and stars Te Kohe Tuhaka, Jordi Webber, newcomer Darneen Christian, Vicky Haughton, Calvin Tuteao and Kirk Torrance.
