in German occupied Belgium in November 1943, the drama revolves around Belgian daily newspaper Le Soir, which came under Nazi Germany’s control following its invasion of the country in 1940. Its daily offering of German propaganda resulted in it being nicknamed Le Soir Volé (The Stolen Soir). In the face of acute danger if they were caught in the act, Belgian resistance group the Independent Front published a spoof edition, satirizing the German occupiers and their propaganda-controlled newspaper, which came to be known as the Le Faux Soir (The False Soir).

To be directed by Mulan's Niki Caro, it has the story set in post-WWII Germany and following a recently released camp prisoner (Gadot) who is forced to make an unlikely alliance with a German soldier (Schoenaerts) in a mutual quest to exact revenge on a Nazi SS squad.

With the power being in the hands of Kate Winslet as madam chancellor, Matthias Schoenaerts plays her trusted and devoted and obviously psychotic chief of security,  with Guillaume Gallienne, Andrea Riseborough, Martha Plimpton and Hugh Grant also in the cast! The six episode series was directed by legendary movie director and film maker from United Kingdom Stephen Frears. As the slogan of the series says - her love knows no mercy! When it comes to new book adaptations, the news of the day is that Hartswood Films has bought TV rights on THE WARLOCK EFFECT Cold War thriller about a magician who flees Nazi Germany and is lured into espionage, written by Jeremy Dyson and Andy Nyman! Their debut book, which is effectively out in the bookshops since Thursday, centers on Ludvik Weinschenk, a boy who escapes tyranny in Germany to become the most famous magician in 1950s Britain under the stage name Louis Warlock. His talent for deception attracts the attention of the British secret service and he is thrown into the world of espionage on a mission across Europe.

novel PARIS INTERZONE into mini TV series. As Variety reports, the ambitious series, which William Boyd is writing and is being co-produced by Ian Benson, will shed light on a counterintelligence program that was launched by the CIA and operated by a secret unit within the American embassy in Paris. Their mission was to infiltrate the literary cafes of the Left Bank in Paris and spy on expat American artists and authors. At that time in the U.S., under the McCarthy era, many authors, especially black and gay ones, were oppressed and jailed. The series will be a modern, glamorous noir thriller laced with a love triangle between a French editor and two American characters.

Toplining our global news updates today is something coming from France: Matthias Schoenaerts has been set as the lead of the new wild west set ten part TV series DJANGO which will air on Canal + in French territories and on Sky channels around Europe. Created by Leonardo Fasoli and Maddalena Ravaglia it will offer a fresh new take on the Western genre with a contemporary and psychological twist. The story is set in the Wild West in the 1860s and 1870s. Sarah and John have founded New Babylon, a city of outcasts, full of men and women of all backgrounds, races and creeds, that welcomes everyone with open arms. Haunted by the murder of his family eight years earlier, Django is still looking for his daughter, believing she may have survived the killing. He is shocked to find her in New Babylon, about to marry John. But Sarah, now a grown woman, wants Django to leave, as she fears he will put New Babylon in jeopardy if he stays. However, Django, believing the city is in danger, is adamant that he will not lose his daughter twice. The English language series will start shooting in May.

After cancelling One Day at a Time, Netflix has ordered a new Latino multicamera sitcom THE EXPANDING UNIVERSE OF ASHLEY GARCIA, which will have Jencarlos Canela leading the 16 episode season.

Created by Mario Lopez and Melissa & Joey producer Seth Kurland, if revolves around Ashley Garcia (as Deadline reports, she will be played by newcomer Paulina Chavez), the world’s only 15 and a half year old robotics engineer and rocket scientist, who gets the chance to work for NASA. She moves across the country to live with her fun loving Uncle Victor (Jencarlos Canela), a pro football player turned high school coach who’s never met a responsibility he can’t shirk.

In early 1920s Copenhagen, the illustrator and artist Gerda Wegener (Alicia Vikander) asks her husband, Einar Wegener (Eddie Redmayne), to stand in for a female model. The popularity of the portraits leads to Gerda painting her husband in further pictures as a woman. Einar develops an attraction for a female physical appearance and begins living as a woman named Lili Elbe. Ultimately Elbe becomes the first ever recipient of male to female sex reassignment surgery, and Gerda supports her decision, although their marriage becomes strained when Gerda comes to the realization that Lili is no longer the person she married. A childhood friend of Lili, Hans Axgil (Matthias Schoenaerts), shows up and forms a complex love triangle with the couple.

'THE DANISH GIRL' TRAILER

Three trailers for you today, the first being the one for Tom Hooper's drama THE DANISH GIRL in which Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne (could easily get it next year too) plays artist Lili, previously known as Einar Wegener, who became one of the world's first known recipients of gender transformation surgery in 1930. The movie, which will arrive into US cinemas at the end of November and around Europe in January, also stars Alicia Vikander who portrays the artist's wife Gerda Wegener, with Amber Heard, Matthias Schoenaerts and Ben Whishaw also in the cast!

'RISEN' EPIC TRAILER

 The second trailer for today is also the second one for historical thriller set in the Roman age RISEN  which is out next January,  Biblical story of the Resurrection, as told through the eyes of a non-believer. Clavius  (Joseph Fiennes), a powerful Roman Military Tribune, and his aide Lucius (Tom Felton), are tasked with solving the mystery of what happened to Jesus in the weeks following the crucifixion, in order to disprove the rumours of a risen Messiah and prevent an uprising in Jerusalem. Kevin Reynolds (WATER WORLD, TRISTAN AND ISOLDE, ROBIN HOOD) directs.

With the premiere scheduled for January, the first trailer has finally been released for the big screen adaptation of Rick Yancey's YA novel THE 5TH WAVE starring Chloe Moretz Four waves of increasingly deadly alien attacks have left most of Earth decimated. The 1st wave was a permanent blackout of power, setting earth back into the Stone Age. The 2nd wave a massive tsunami, killing off all coastal cities. The 3rd wave a plague caused by birds, leaving only the unlucky alive. The 4th wave humans with activated alien brains. Against a backdrop of fear and distrust, 16-year-old Cassie is on the run, desperately trying to save her younger brother.
