ITV has surprised us today with the first trailer for their upcoming new six part thriller TV series THE PARTY which boasts quite a stellar leading duo with Luke Evans and Tom Cullen! Evans plays Martin Gilmour, a journalist shaped by his lifelong friendship with the wealthy and charismatic politician Ben Fitzmaurice (Cullen). Raised alone by his working-class mum, Sylvia (Joanna Scanlan), Martin wins a scholarship to an elite boarding school, where he first meets Ben. They forge an unbreakable bond, as Ben and the Fitzmaurices give Martin the sense of belonging he has always craved. In turn, Martin remains unflinchingly loyal to Ben through even the greatest crises. Three decades on, Martin is invited to Ben’s lavish birthday party atthe Fitzmaurices' country pile. The news of the Conservative leader’s resignation threatens to derail Ben’s party, as he considers announcing his  intention to stand. Martin fears the publicity that Ben’s bid would bring, dredging up the secrets of their past with tragic consequences. The drama moves between the shocking events of the party and the police  investigation that follows, with flashbacks to Martin and Ben’s lives at school, university and London party  days. Sarah Solemani stars as Martin’s pregnant wife, Lucy. Lydia Leonard is Serena, Ben’s formidable wife, whilst Lindsay Duncan and Douglas Hodge play Ben’s parents, Lady Katherine and Lord George Fitzmaurice. It will air this Autumn!

I told you back in September that Emily Blunt will lead WALK THE BLUE FIELDS romance movie from director John Crowley and now we now that she will be joined by Tom Cullen, Ciaran Hinds and Andrew Scott in the cast. In the film to be shot in Ireland, Blunt will play a woman who on her wedding day is confronted with a heart-wrenching decision as a love triangle from her past threatens to be revealed.

Hitting small screens this week, August 20th over at U&Alibi channel in UK is Welsh six part series MUDTOWN a fresh, pacy crime thriller driven by brilliant, unique central characters and set in the atmospheric and visually distinctive city of Newport, Wales. At its heart is Claire (Erin Richards), a passionate local magistrate placed in a morally compromising situation when Pete (Tom Cullen), a charismatic gangster comes back into her life. Throughout six edge-of-your-seat episodes, Claire is forced to confront the blurred lines between right and wrong as her maternal instincts begin to clash with her duty to uphold the law.

After the first look pictures and new names to join Hugh Bonneville, Charlotte Spencer, Emun Elliott, Tom Cullen, Stefanie Martini and Sam Spruell in the second season of BBC's THE GOLD series that were revealed in February, we now have the trailer and also June 8th as the return date for the new season. Some of the new cast members joining series two, include: Tom Hughes, Stephen Campbell Moore, Joshua McGuire, Tamsin Topolski, Joshua Samuels and Rochelle Neil as well as Antonia Desplat, Lorna Brown, Thomas Coombes, Sean Teale and our gorgeous Olivia Grant! As you probably remember the first season also included some famous names  such as Jack Lowden who is back again and Dominic Cooper. In Australia it hits Stan June 9th.

 

THE SIX PART TV SERIES

is inspired by the true story of the 1983 Brink’s-Mat robbery and the decades-long chain of events that followed. Following the conviction of some of those involved in the theft and handling of the Brink’s-Mat gold, the police (Hugh Bonneville, Charlotte Spencer, Emun Elliot) realised that those criminals only ever had half of it. Series two explores what happened to the other half, and the criminal fortune it created. As the police investigation continues, it becomes a tense, high-stakes journey into international money laundering and organised crime, the police embark on a series of dramatic manhunts as they desperately try to solve the longest and most expensive investigation in the history of the Metropolitan Police.

Emma’s mother always told her she’d go the same way, that she had the same “bad blood” and now Emma’s terrified it’s true. As events worsen, Emma’s
world starts to unravel and she realises that only by investigating the truth of her painful past, can she find the answers to her present and prevent tragedy
from striking a second time. Tom Cullen plays Emma’s loving husband Robert, Smylie Bradwell and India Fowler are Will and Chloe, their
children. Emma’s estranged sister Phoebe is played by Leanne Best  with Corinna Marlowe as Emma’s mother Patricia and Lyndsey Marshal as Caroline, Emma’s friend. It will also stream on Stan in Australia, May 24th.

As Variety reports, Brad Anderson is set to direct new science fiction movie WORLD BREAKER and he has set Welsh star Luke Evans as the lead star with Slavic star Milla Jovovich also staring.

To be shot over in Northern Ireland, the story of the film revolves around a father and his daughter. Five years previously, a tear in the fabric of reality brought creatures to our world from an alternate dimension bent on our destruction. Luke also has ahead of him a role in THE WAY TV movie which also stars Tom Cullen, Michael Sheen, Paul Rhys and Aneurin Barnard and follows the Driscolls, an ordinary family caught in between power struggles that forces them to leave the country they call home.

BBC One has just announced their new 3 part drama THE WAY about an ordinary family caught up in an extraordinary chain of events that ripple out from their home town. Steffan Rhodri, Mali Harries, Sophie Melville, Callum Scott Howells and Michael Sheen lead the cast as the Driscoll family with! Luke Evans stars as a mercenary in pursuit of the Driscolls, with Tom Cullen and Aneurin Barnard also in the cast. And he will be singing in it just like he did in Lyle, Lyle Crocodile. According to Variety, Shawn Mendes will have his original new song Something Big featured in new animated movie BUTTERFLY TALE from Pink Parrot Media.

 

BUTTERFLY TALE 

is an animated feature film for the whole family set along the diverse, picturesque, and ever-changing backdrop of the great Monarch butterfly migration. The lead characters are voiced by Tatiana Maslany and Aladdin's Mena Massoud. A heartwarming tale of a gutsy and loveable yet inept, one-winged butterfly, named Patrick who stows away in a milkweed trailer in order to be part of the journey of a lifetime. With his best friend, a goofy caterpillar named Marty, and Jennifer, a butterfly who is afraid of heights, Patrick will become an unlikely hero.
