NEW APPLE TV PLUS SF SERIES

Last week we saw the return of comedy hour with new seasons of beloved sitcoms over at CBS and then the launch of The New Look Dior and Chanel series

Constellation starts next Wednesday

at Apple TV Plus, but beside The Way, which starts tomorrow on BBC, next week is only bringing us CONSTE- LLATION over at Apple. New sf series will be available for streaming from February 21st with first three episodes starring Noomi Rapace and James D'Arcy. 

 

NEW SERIES FOLLOWS
Jo, an astronaut who returns to Earth after a disaster in space – only to discover that key pieces of her life seem to be missing. The action-packed space adventure is an exploration of the dark edges of human psychology, and one woman’s desperate quest to expose the truth about the hidden history of space travel and recover all that she has lost. It is here and it looks better than I expected: Sky has released first trailer for their ten part 1800s set Wild West series DJANGO which arrives to Sky streamers February 17th and will also air on Canal + in France starring Matthias Schoenaerts as famous gunslinger Django, alongside Nicholas

Django arrives this February

Pinnock as John Ellis, visionary founder of the town of New Babylon, Lisa Vicari as Django’s daughter Sarah, and Noomi Rapace as John’s powerful and ruthless enemy Elizabeth Thurman. The cast also includes Tom Austen as cowboy Eljiah Turner. 

THE STORY FOLLOWS 

 Django, a gunslinger in the Wild West who is searching for his daughter who he believes escaped the murder of his family eight years ago. In following his daughter’s trail, Django comes upon New Babylon, a town at the bottom of a crater, where all outcasts are welcome and where everyone is equal and free. Here, Django discovers that his daughter is alive and set to marry John Ellis, the founder of New Babylon. Sarah – who blames her father for the death of their family, massacred many years earlier while he was at war – wants Django to leave. But he refuses to give up and does everything in his power to get a second chance with her, becoming a valuable ally for Ellis, who must defend the town from Elizabeth Thurman’s attacks. Unbeknownst to them, Django, John, and Sarah are linked by a web of secrets and a dark past bound to resurface.

Tom Jones arrives this April to PBS

Fielding's beloved novel sees Hannah Waddingham portraying the seductive and vengeful Lady Bellaston, who comes between Tom (Solly McLeod) and Sophia (Sophie Wilde). The story follows Tom Jones, a foundling of uncertain parentage in 18th Century England who falls for an heiress, who is, of course, blackwashed in the series. James Fleet stars as Squire Allworthy, Tom’s warm-hearted adoptive father; Alun Armstrong as Allworthy’s hard drinking but loveable neighbor Squire Western, who is Sophia’s doting grandfather; Felicity Montagu as Allworthy’s reserved sister, Bridget; and James Wilbraham as her odious son, William Blifil, an unrelenting antagonist to Tom.

Halo will launch March 24th this Spring

There is a number of big epic series arriving this year, and among them is Paramount + TV series adaptation of famous HALO video game which has just got a set of character posters after we got the new trailer and a launch date from March 24th a few weeks ago! Pablo Schreiber leads the cast as Master Chief, the Spartan in the middle of an epic 26th century conflict between humanity and an alien threat known as The Covenant, who happens to be humanity’s best weapon against the invading alien race, as he was enhanced an trained for one purpose: to win this war. At least that is what Natascha McElhone’s Dr. Halsey says in the trailer. The cast also includes Jen Taylor as Cortana, Bokeem Woodbine, Shabana Azmi, Natasha Culzac, Olive Gray, Yerin Ha, Bentley Kalu, Kate Kennedy, a rather unrecognisable Charlie Murphy, Danny Sapani, alongside Ryan McParland, Burn Gorman and Fiona O’Shaughnessy. Watch below the trailer which opens to the brilliant and haunting new sf version of In the Air Tonight by Phill Collins. The series was created by Steven Kane and Kyle Killen and shot over in Hungary. It was originally set over at Showtime before it moved to Paramount Plus streamer. Jonathan Liebesman who helmed Shanara Chronicles and Otto Bathurst who is also helming Billy the Kid series over at Epix are directing the episodes.

Speaking of sf genre, check out the first trailer and poster for post apocalyptic sf movie BLACK CRAB which lands at Netflix March 18th coming from Sweden and starring Scandinavian stars Noomi Rapace and Jakob Oftebro and directed by Adam Berg who also worked on the scenario for the movie.  Set in a post apocalyptic world, this Swedish action thriller follows six soldiers sent on a covert mission to transport a mysterious package across a frozen archipelago without knowing what dangers lie ahead or who - if anyone - they can trust.But for speed skater turned soldier Caroline Edh, the mission is about something else entirely as she needs to save her daughter as well.

Under the guidance of his mentor Jonathan Caldwell (Neill), Morgan must defeat Falk and the other assassins to keep himself and his girlfriend Sophie (Daniela Melchior) alive.
