Warner Bros has added Anya Taylor Joy to Andy Serkis directed LORD OF THE RINGS: THE HUNT FOR GOLLUM in which he will also repeat the role of Gollum. Kate Winslet joined previously as Marigol, Smeagol's grandmother, with Lee Pace returning as Elven king Thranduil and Sir Ian McKellen as Gandalf. With Elijah Wood back as Frodo, Jamie Dornan joins as Strider aka Aragorn while Leo Woodall will be a character named Halvard. As Deadline reports, Lee Pace will portray Brother Day, the current Emperor of the Galaxy, while Jared Harris will play Hari Seldon, a mathematical genius who predicts the demise of the empire. David Goyer (Da Vinci's Demons) is serving as the show runner and executive producer as well. This comes after rumours that Apple has already invested close to $250 million into their sf series SEE which launches their streaming service next week and has the second season already ordered!

Fox has ordered a new sf show from SLEEPY HOLLOW's Len Wiseman. The untitled space show is set in a foreseeable future, where companies have begun to colonize sections of our known galaxy. The premiere of World War II historical drama FURY is getting close to its October 17th scheduled date and Sony Pictures has now released posters depicting the characters that Brad Pitt, Shia LaBeouf, Logan Lerman and Jon Bernthal play. Directed by David Ayer FURY will be set in April, 1945. As the Allies make their final push in the European Theatre, a battle-hardened army sergeant named Wardaddy (Brad Pitt) commands a Sherman tank and her five-man crew on a deadly mission behind enemy lines. Outnumbered and outgunned, Wardaddy and his men face overwhelming odds in their brave attempts to strike at the heart of Nazi Germany. Michael Peña, Scott Eastwood, Jason Isaacs, also star in the historical action movie.

DISNEY'S 'THE FINEST HOURS' 

BEN FOSTER JOINS CHRIS PINE

Variety reports today that the latest of the stars to join Disney's upcoming action adventure THE FINEST HOURS is young actor Ben Foster. The cast already includes Chris Pine, Casey Affleck, Graham McTavish and Holliday Grainger. The movie will be based on the true story of a 1952 courageous Coast Guard rescue mission (which is considered one of the biggest one in their history), set against one of the worst storms ever to hit the East Coast, during which an oil tanker was literally ripped in half. Facing subzero temperatures and waves as high as 70 feet, four Coast Guard members set off in a lifeboat to rescue over 30 crew members who were stranded in the sinking vessel.

HISTORICAL 'BROOKLYN BRIDGE' 

MOVIE GETS DANIEL RADCLIFFE AND BEN KING- SLEY

Another of the upcoming movies to be connected with sea and water in some way will also be BROOKLYN BRIDGE. This historical drama already has Daniel Radcliffe, Ben Kingsley and Brie Larson in the cast. To be directed by Doug McGrath (EMMA, NICHOLAS NICKLEBY, COMPANY MAN) the movie will see Radcliffe playing Washington Roebling, a talented but inexperienced young engineer who is left in charge of the construction of the BROOKLYN BRIDGE in the late 19th century after the death of his father (Kingsley). His wife (Larson) is drawn into his obsession to realise his father's vision.
