The movie news of the day is that MISSION IMPOSSIBLE: ROGUE NATION writer Drew Pearce has finished the script for a male version of GHOST- BUSTERS spin-off movie which would exist in the same universe as the female centric one with Melissa McCarthy, but this one would have Chris Pratt and Channing Tatum in the lead roles! Unlike the female one which is being directed by Paul Feig, the male GHOST- BUSTERS would be helmed and produced by the Russo brothers (CAPTAIN AMERICA WINTER SOLDIER) and by Ivan Reitman, who did the original 1980's movie. And in case you almost forgot that Tom Hardy is supposed to star in new historical series TABOO, they are reminding us of it with the news that Kristoffer Nyholm  (THE KILLING) is to direct the first four of the eight episodes of the epic series. BBC and FX are producing TABOO in which Hardy plays James Keziah Delaney, who returns to London in 1813 after 10 years in Africa to discover that he has been left a mysterious legacy by his father. Driven to right the wrongs of the past, Delaney finds himself in a face-off against the East India Company, while playing a dangerous game between two warring nations — Britain and the newborn U.S. Hardy has actually written the story with his father.

Now, it isn't yet known if he will star in it too, but Hollywood hunk Channing Tatum will produce the big screen adaptation of popular best selling novel TWO KISSES FOR MADDY from Matthew Logelin for Sony Pictures. The heart breaking story of the emotional book revolves around a father who must raise his newborn daughter alone after his wife tragically dies 27 hours after childbirth. As Maddy grows older, her father gives her two kisses each night, one from himself and one from her mother.

'DICKENSIAN' BBC EPIC DRAMA

WITH ALL DICKENS' CHARACTERS

Meanwhile, in TV news, something rather interesting coming from BBC! They are preparing a 20 half hour episode series DICKEN- SIAN which will bring together some of the writer's most iconic characters as their lives intertwine in unique and surprising ways in 19th Century London.

The stellar cast will include Caroline Quentin (as 'Oliver Twists' Mrs Bumble), Peter Firth, Stephen Rea (as tenacious Inspector Bucket from 'Bleak House'), Pauline Collins (as gin-tippling Mrs Gamp from 'Martin Chuzzlewit'), Tuppence Middleton, Sophie Rundle, Omid Djalili, Anton Lesser, Ned Dennehy, Adrian Rawlins and Tom Weston-Jones. The 90-metre, cobbled 19th century street which has already been built by the studio for Dickens' characters to inhabit will also welcome Scrooge, Fagin and Miss Havisham among other literary faces!
