Warner Bros has added Anya Taylor Joy to Andy Serkis directed LORD OF THE RINGS: THE HUNT FOR GOLLUM in which he will also repeat the role of Gollum. Kate Winslet joined previously as Marigol, Smeagol's grandmother, with Lee Pace returning as Elven king Thranduil and Sir Ian McKellen as Gandalf. With Elijah Wood back as Frodo, Jamie Dornan joins as Strider aka Aragorn while Leo Woodall will be a character named Halvard. EPIC SERIES RENEWED FOR SEASON 3

Although, to be honest, the second season was unwatchable to me, Prime Video has renewed THE RINGS OF POWER epic series for season three which will jump forward several years from the events of season 2 with the story taking place at the height of the War of the Elves and Sauron, as the Dark Lord seeks to craft the One Ring that will give him the edge he needs to win the war and conquer all Middle-earth at last. Acclaimed directors Charlotte Brändström, Sanaa Hamri, and Stefan Schwartz are set for upcoming season. Filming will begin in UK this spring.

It has been two years since the first glorious season aired, but Prime Video is finally preparing August 29th as the start date of the brand new season of the epic THE RINGS OF POWER series from the Lord of the Rings universe and today we are celebrating it with a spectacular official trailer which you can feast your eyes upon below and tell us what you think.

Cast out by Galadriel (Morfydd Clark), without army or ally, the rising Dark Lord must now rely on his own cunning to rebuild his strength and energy and oversee the creation of the mighty Rings of Power, which will allow him to bind all the peoples of Middle-earth to his sinister will. Season two plunges even its most  beloved and vulnerable characters into a rising tide of darkness, challenging each to find their place in a world that is increasingly on the brink of calamity.  Elves and dwarves, orcs and men, wizards and Harfoots… as friendships are strained and kingdoms begin to fracture, the forces of good will struggle even more valiantly to hold on to what matters to them most of all… each other.

Miramax TV has cast Daisy Ridley in their new TV series THE CHRISTIE AFFAIR an adaptation of Nina de Gramont's murder mystery novel about the time when the famous detective novel writer Agatha Christie disappeared for two weeks. In 1926, when her husband’s affair became public, Agatha Christie vanished for eleven days. In this reimagining, told through the eyes of her husband’s mistress Nan O’Dea (Daisy Ridley), Nan and Agatha become entwined in each other’s lives in ways neither expected.

After rival House of the Dragon has received a very mild reception among the audiences this weekend the whole world in now waiting with a bated breath to see what will happen over at Amazon Prime who has now released a new magnificent trailer for the $500 million worth, and thus the most expensive ever in history, epic TV series THE RINGS OFPOWER a prequel to famous Lord of the Rings saga from Tolkien. The first eight episode season arrives September 2nd with the second one already shooting in UK. The premiere will consist of two episodes with the rest then streaming weekly

HEROES OLD AND NEW

Beside younger versions of the characters we already grew to love or hate in Lord of the Rings and Hobbit films, such as Elven queen Galadriel, Elrond and Sauron, the new series will also have some new heroes in the principal ensemble cast which includes 22 actors. Morfydd Clark stars in the role of Galadriel, previously portrayed by Cate Blanchett, she is the commander of the Northern Armies,  Ismael Cruz Córdova as new character Arondir, a Silvanelf. His forbidden love Bronwyn, a healer, is played by Nazanin Boniadi! Robert Aramayo plays Galadriel's love Elrond, a politically ambitions young Elven leader, while Charlie Vickers stars in the new original role of Halbrand who is running from the past. Sophia Nomvete is dwarven princess, Disa! Owain Arthur stars as Durin IV, prince of the bustling subterranean realm of Khazad-dûm. Elven smith Celebrimbor whose skill with metals and magic lead to the forging of the rings is portrayed by Charles Edwards. Maxim Baldry is a sailor named Isildur who will appear years before he becomes a warrior and cuts the soul-corrupting ring off Sauron’shand, then falls victim to its powers himself. Hobbits will not appear in the show, but their ancestor species called the harfoots will. Lenny Henry plays a harfoot elder in the series, while Megan Richards and Markella Kavenagh star as two harfoots who encounter a mysterious lost man. Yesterday, within our spotlight on epic and period set series we can expect next Autumn, I showed you exclusive new photos of High King Gil-Galad of Elves played by Benjamin Walker in LORD OF THE RINGS: THE RINGS OF POWER epic series that hits Amazon Prime Video September 2nd, and today we will visit the Elves a bit more as I have some new photos for you.  With the story set during the Second Age of Middle-earth, thousands of years before the story we have seen in Peter Jackson's movies, there will be some familiar faces for example the immortal elves Galadriel and Elrond who are now young (although a few thousand years old which is very young for Elves). While Galadriel (Morfydd Clark) will go on an adventure as seen in the trailer for the series, Elrond (Robert Aramayo) is being mentored by Elven High King Gil-Galad (Benjamin Walker) to become the great king of the future! 

  GIL-GALAD, High King of the Elves of the West is someone that we have actually briefly seen in Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings movies, but he was played there by Mark Ferguson in the, as Winter Is Coming writes, opening sequence where the Last Alliance of Elves and Men battle against Sauron, and he died in the fight. Although we meet Gil-Galad in the first season in the time of peace, he’s got an elvish sense of the impending rebirth of evil, and he feels he has to protect his lands from it. Most of the Elves left

First look at Celebrimbor

Middle-earth for Elven heaven Valinor at the end of the First age, but Gil-Galad stayed because he needed to stand against Sauron who wants to become a new Dark Lord. Gil-Galad is a warrior, but also a politician who takes care of his people.

CELEBRIMBOR

We also have the first photos of Celebrimbor played in the series by Charles Edwards. He was the Elven smith who lived in Eregion, an Elf settlement close to Khazad-dûm, aka Moria, where he was learning ring lore from Sauron (under the guise of an Elf called Annatar)! In the first season, Celebrimbor is lord of the realm and is actively trying to turn Eregion into a place of excellence. And he is working with the Dwarves towards that end to try and capitalize on their talents and their creativity. He is vain, cautious, and yet gullible. His desire to create the greatest expression of craft, and surpass his father Fëanor’s legendary Jewels, opens the way for Sauron to tempt him with the secrets of ring lore. In the series he will send Elrond to the Dwarven court to court the Dwarves.
