We start our spotlight on the festive movies you can catch on the telly this December with ALL I NEED FOR CHRISTMAS which arrives to Hallmark Mystery December 12th starring our dearest Dan Jeannotte. Female lead goes to Mallory Jansen who plays Maggie, a struggling singer and songwriter  feeling out of touch with modern technology, who meets tech-savvy entrepreneur Archer, who has come back to town to spend the holidays alone, during a Christmas stay on her family farm, and together they learn to blend tradition with innovation to overcome personal challenges and pursue their dreams. Mike Dopud and Kurt Long also star.

Engaged By Christmas arrives December 22nd

Meanwhile, over at Lifetime, just a few days before Christmas, December 22nd you can watch two fan favourites Britanny Bristow and Marcus Rosner in romantic holiday movie ENGAGED BY CHRISTMAS! Hoping to save her relationship before the holidays, Zoe seeks help from an advice columnist named Adora. However, when her boyfriend breaks up with her, Zoe tracks down Adora to confront her, only to discover he’s actually a man named Adam. Stafford Perry and Patrick Lynn also star in this new holiday movie.

 

CHRISTMAS ON THE ALPACA FARM

Alpacas arrive December 15th to Lifetime

If you want some furry delight in your Christmas movies, how about some adorable alpacas? CHRISTMAS AT THE ALPACA FARM will arrive to Lifetime December 15th with Kirsten Comerford and Matt Wells in the lead roles. Jess (Kirsten Comerford) the “Queen of Christmas Sweaters,” quits her job at the hottest fashion label in NYC, intent on winning a Christmas competition with her own line of sustainable luxury knits. Getting her hands dirty, she teams up with Andrew (Matt Wells), a single dad and struggling alpaca farmer, as she helps bring Christmas joy to the farm and love into both of their hearts.

Premiering January 6th on Hallmark is romantic comedy LOVE ON THE RIGHT COURSE about Whitney (Ashley Newbrough), a professional golfer who is struggling to make the cut to qualify

Love on the Right Course opens January movies

for her next tournament in Europe. Concerned that she might not be able to continue competing on a professional level, she returns to Budapest, and the golf course her family owns there, to revaluate her career. She finds that her father, who has grown reclusive since losing his wife two years ago, has handed over day-to-day operations of the club to a laid-back, new golf pro, Daniel (Marcus Rosner). Daniel’s casual style is at odds with Whitney’s and it throws her off her game, literally. As the pair get to know each other, their perspective changes and a romance develops. But, when Whitney’s former trainer returns and pushes Daniel out, it might just cost Whitney her best shot at love.

 

A SCOTTISH LOVE SCHEME

January 13th takes us to Scotland

Moving from golf course to equally green Scotland we will arrive to A SCOTTISH LOVE SCHEME brand new romantic movie which will arrive to Hallmark a week later bringing Saturday night fun on January 13th! The story of this new Hallmark romance revolves around a young woman called Lily (played on the small screens by Erica Durance) who travels to Scotland with her mother and reconnects with Logan (played by Jordan Young), a childhood family friend. Unbeknownst to Lily and Logan, their meddling mothers have come up with a plan to set them up. This one obviously continues Hallmark's new tradition of having movies set in Scotland.

A week later, Saturday evening of January 20th brings us new romantic movie BETTY'S BAD LUCK IN LOVE which has Laci J. Mailey and Marco Grazzini taking over lead roles. The story of this one follows a girl named Betty (Mailey) who is cursed from childhood to fail at romance, which basically means that all of her relationships have always ended in disaster. But when she meets Alex (Grazzini), she's tempted to try once more. Can true love prevail over a curse?

I do have to admit when I first heard of their pairing up I thought I died and went to heaven and now we even have a trailer with the two of them: our dearest boys Luke MacFarlane and Peter Porte as leads in NOTES OF AUTUMN which kicks off Autumn season at Hallmark September 16th!

Ellie (Ashley Williams) is a fun-loving, classically trained pianist living in the city who gave up on her passion long ago. She now works for a hotel and always seems to be getting things wrong when musical inspiration strikes. Her best friend, Leo (Luke Macfarlane), lives in the rustic outskirts of British Columbia. He’s a famous author with writer’s block who can’t finish another installment in his highly popular book series. They both need a change of scenery as the chilly days of autumn settle in and decide to swap places, ending up completely lost in new surroundings. Ellie gets tangled up in helping Leo’s neighbor, Sam (Marcus Rosner), put together a musical performance for a local fundraiser and comes to terms with why she quit music years ago. Meanwhile, Leo strikes up a friendship with Ellie’s good friend Matt (Peter Porte) and opens himself up to writing something different that really inspires him. Their newfound friendships turn into something far more meaningful. As both Ellie and Leo take part in the joys of the autumn season, they also discover their hearts belong somewhere very different than they ever thought possible. This is a historic year for Luke Macfarlane both because he got a child with his husband in his private life and because this is his first gay role on Hallmark.

Apple TV Plus has released first images from their new catastrophe monster series MONARCH: LEGACY OF MONSTERS which will stream later this year. Following the thunderous battle between Godzilla and the Titans that leveled San Francisco and the shocking revelation that monsters are real, the story of the ten episode series tracks two siblings following in their father’s footsteps to uncover their family’s connection to the secretive organization known as Monarch. Clues lead them into the world of monsters and ultimately down the rabbit hole to Army officer Lee Shaw (played by Kurt Russell and Wyatt Russell), taking place in the 1950s and half a century later where Monarch is threatened by what Shaw knows. The dramatic saga – spanning three generations – reveals buried secrets and the ways that epic, earth-shattering events can reverberate through our lives. Our gorgeous boy Anders Holm also stars.
