Available as of Monday May 5th on Russian streamer Wink, is four part war drama ROSLIY (Рослый) with our dearest Kirill Zaitsev in the lead role. In 1939, Major Ivan Rosliy, at the behest of ill-wishers, finds himself in the very heat of the Soviet-Finnish War. But it is his unit that breaks through the impregnable Mannerheim Line, which became the most important stage of the future victory. In spite of everyone, Rosliy returns from that war as a Hero of the Soviet Union with the rank of colonel. At the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, he is surrounded, but leads thousands of Soviet soldiers to their own side. Rosliy is given the reputation of a lucky commander, and his successes increasingly anger his opponents not only on the battlefield. By achieving the impossible he inspired many fighters to keep on the fight for freedom. In the Battle of the Caucasus, the troops under his command defeated the Nazi tank army, which completely thwarted the strategic plans of the fascists to conquer the oil territories. His numerous battles and victories will end in Berlin with the capture of the Imperial Chancellery.

The latest fairy tale to get a new movie adaptation over in Russia is their popular legend of MOROZKO and today you can check out the first images from the family movie adventure which has just started shooting over in Russia directed by Eduard Bordukov combining Russian folklore and sweeping action! Our dearest Russian star Kirill Zaitsev takes the lead role next to Elizaveta Boyarskaya from Catherine the Great in the lead female role.   THE STORY OF THE FILM

follows Marfa and Nastya who are half-sisters and best friends, and they cope not only with their grumpy mother, but also with ancient magic, because of which winter has not come in their village for many decades. In the famous fairy tale step mother hates her step daughter and banishes her to the woods in the middle of the winter where she selflessly saves Morozko and is then covered in gold and fortune by him to much chagrin of her step mother. By the end of the movie the girls manage to overcome all obstacles,
drive away the evil witch, melt Morozko’s heart, and also find love. The film currently has a February 2026 release date in Russian cinemas. Stay tuned for more info as we will follow the production.

This one will be hitting small screens in Russia sometime later this year, but we have first images from THE LAST KNIGHT: LEGACY series. The whole franchise of movies started back in 2017 and is now being turned into a series for television as well. The lead roles are played by Victor Khorinyak, Arina Rozhkova, Evelina Mazurina, Kirill Zaytsev and Yulia Peresild. The last two also appear in the separate film Finist, as legendary hero Finist and Baba Yaga, which will hit big screens in January as a spin off of the film saga and should not be mixed up with this TV series which will air on Start streamer.

THE EIGHT EPISODE TV SERIES
 takes place 20 years after the three previous parts of the movie franchise. Now 50-year-old Ivan (Viktor Khorinyak) lives in Belogorye with his family - wife Vasilisa (Alexandra Ursulyak) and two daughters, Marya (Arina Rozhkova) and young sorceress Sophia (Evelina Mazurina). A calm life in a fairy-tale country is disturbed by the sudden visit of the sorcerer Severin (Alexander Ustyugov) - the magician warns the heroes of the terrible disaster that should soon happen to them. Ivan's daughters will have to protect both realities from danger. While Mary will fight the evil in Belogorye, Sofia will go to the past - in Moscow in 2017, she will need to find a young Ivan who knows nothing about his magical roots. In order not to cause unnecessary suspicion, the young wizard will have to pretend to be an ordinary schoolgirl and go to the 11th grade of the Moscow school.

We have a delightful first teaser for probably the most anticipated new family fairy tale adventure movie coming from Russia - FINIST: THE FIRST WARRIOR (Финист. Первый богатырь) in which our favourite of all mighty Russian hunksters, the blond grand prince himself Kirill Zaytsev is to return to the role of legendary Russian hero Sokol Finist! This epic movie adventure which is set to arrive in Russian cinemas January 2025 also starring Yulia Peresild, the first actress ever to shoot a film up in space, is basically a spin off or continuation of Russia's most popular epic saga The First Warrior, which had four ultra successful sequels previous years and will now focus on the first one among them all, Sokol Finist, from whom all legends and fairy tales begin and start.

 is the most famous hero of Belogorye, the strongest, most dexterous and most deserving. Well, and the most beautiful, of course. All other heroes look up to him, children want to be like him, and girls can't stop looking at him. And who could blame them? Finist is a real superstar. And he carefully protects and maintains this status. He needs more and more feats, he is simply obsessed with them. But there is a nuance. The practical benefit of the feat for Finist is no longer of decisive importance. Let's say, freeing a village from a herd of wild boars that tramples down crops is boring, uninteresting, futile: they won't spread tales about it, they won't admire it. But going to the end of the world, where Beauty is imprisoned in a tower, guarded by an unimaginable Beast, now that is a challenge.

 

 A GORGEOUS BABA YAGA

Beside our boo Kirill the Breathtaking, the cast also includes Russia's most beautiful female star Yulia Peresild who plays probably the most gorgeous Baba Yaga we have ever seen, with Fedor Dobronravov also in the ensemble alongside always funny Sergei Lavigin as Finist's assistant and right hand, albeit a very clumsy one, Meleha, and wildly handsome Fedor Gamaleya as some kind of Arabian or Persian prince or knight at least judging by the photos of him under a turban. Before this one arrives to the cinemas, TV Russia will also air, sometime later this year, an eight part television series THE LAST WARRIOR: LEGACY which is also set in the same world with Finist also taking part in the story.
