NEW TIM ALLEN SITCOM  ARRIVES JANUARY

ABC has issued an extended trailer for January 8th new Tim Allen's multicamera sitcom SHIFTING GEARS which reveals more about why his daughter moves in with his character with her kids and it looks

The series starts January 8th and will stream on Hulu too

like there will be quality heartfelt drama too beside the laughs. To air Wednesday nights, it will see Allen starring as Matt, the stubborn, widowed owner of a classic car restoration shop Parker Customs. When Matt’s estranged daughter, Riley (Kat Dennings), and her teenage kids move into his house, the real restoration begins.

 

WHO ELSE IS IN THE CAST?

Seann William Scott will play Gabriel, a family friend of Matt and Riley who works in the shop with Matt. Daryl “Chill” Mitchell stars as Stitch, a former Marine” and “a mechanic at the shop, Maxwell Simkins as Carter and Barrett Margolis as Georgia, Riley's kids. Also announced as guest stars are Brenda Song, as Caitlyn, a former high school classmate of Riley’s who is now the assistant principal of the school, and Jenna Elfman who has been announced as Eve Drake, a spirited choreographer and owner of the dance studio across from Parker Customs.

Comedy Friday today, people, to end your week with some fun topics! After her return to Stars Hollow in Gilmore Girls event series, it seems Lauren Graham will stay in comedy waters on the small screens since, as Deadline reports, she has just taken the lead role in Fox single camera comedy series LINDA FROM HR! The new series centres on the eponymous heroine, Linda Plugh (Graham). All it takes is one bad decision to throw Linda from HR’s monotonous, unfulfilled life into an exciting but dangerous tailspin of balancing work life, home life and a secret that could unravel everything. She recently starred in Matthew Perry's The Odd Couple sitcom as well!

DYLAN MCDERMOTT TO LEAD

'LA - > VEGAS' COMEDY
Also overt at Fox, they have found their lead actor for new single camera comedy series LA - > VEGAS in Dylan McDermott! The comedy is set on the Friday night flight from LAX to Vegas and the returning flight on Sunday. It is about a group of underdogs trying to find their place in the world who all share the same goal: to come back a winner in the casino of life. McDermott will play the pilot on Flight 1710, Captain Dave, cocky but also a baby, a likeable narcissist who feels connecting with his passengers is just as important as flying the plane.
'SPACED OUT' NBC SITCOM
Meanwhile, the creators of NBC's beloved sitcom Undateables are returning to the same network with new single camera comedy series SPACED OUT a workplace comedy that centres on a working class genius and his struggles to fit in with an established team — all made more difficult when their job is building a rocket to Mars. Brett Goldstein is the first one to be cast in the new series as Leon Ness, the brilliant, eccentric and unpredictable founder of Space One, a man who dreams big and never gives up!

'IMAGINARY MARY' 

JENNA ELFMAN TV COMEDY

Meanwhile, a series that has already been shot and is ready for the launch of its first season over at ABC is hybrid comedy sitcom IMAGINARY MARY which will air its sneak peak on March 29th and then continue with regular premiere on April 4th!  A mix of live action scripted comedy series and CGI elements it will see Jenna Elfman leading the thirteen episode first season run! The series has been postponed a few times since ABC needed time to improve and enhance the CGI elements (Mary's imaginary friend is CGI animated!

It is charting the treachery, palace intrigue and ill-fated romances of the Montagues and Capulets in the wake of the young lovers’ tragic fate. Wade Briggs, Torrance Coombs, Grant Bowler star.

Another pilot is rounding up its cast over at NBC. Sarah Ramos, Arielle Kebbel and Dylan Bruce will star in a very unusual new series MIDNIGHT, TEXAS a small screen adaptation of Charlaine Harris' trilogy which she wrote after TRUE BLOOD. Described as Twin Peaks meets True Blood in MIDNIGHT, TEXAS, a remote town where your neighbour could be a vampire, a witch, a werewolf, or even an angel. Mystery, horror and romance combine to both enthral and frighten any outsiders who decide to venture into this unusual place! Ramos will be a waitress in the local restaurant, Kebbel will be a freelance hitwoman and a very important woman in the community, while Bruce is the owner of the town's Pawn Shop and estate owner.

In other TV news, 'Deadline' reports that Jenna Elfman and Stephen Schneider will lead an untitled new ABC sitcom pilot which will have CGI elements in it. Elfman will be Alice, a bachelorette whose life is turned upside down when she finally meets the love of her life — a divorced father (Stephen Schneider) with three kids. This triggers even more upheaval when the slightly unhinged imaginary friend Alice (to be done by CGI) created as an only child suddenly reappears in her life to help her navigate the transition from single girl to a woman ready for a family.

Meanwhile, over at CW they've cast young Australian actress Laura Brent (LEGEND OF THE SEEKER) to lead their upcoming new epic series TRANSYLVANIA! The story of the historical adventure is set in 1880 revolving around Victoria (Laura Brent), a headstrong young woman in search of her missing father who ventures from NYC to Transylvania where she teams up with a wrongfully disgraced Scotland Yard Detective, and together they witness the births of the most famous monsters and villains in history.

Lovely TV news today, at least for me, since I've always adored gorgeous Lindsay Price (especially in LIPSTICK JUNGLE and EASTWICK)! She has joined new sitcom at NBC together with Chris Klein and Jared Gertner! HOW WE LIVE will revolve around Russell, a blogger, and his wife Holly who move to the suburbs where he begins writing about marriage and the family lives of his suburban friends and neighbours, in the style of an anthropologist who’s stumbled on an undiscovered tribe. Chris Klein will plays Russell’s best friend Matt, a former brat guy who loves sports and red meat and helps Russell navigate the pitfalls of his new environment. Jared Gertner will be Matt’s friend Dennis, a sweet, nerdy, emotional guy who likes cooking, while mind blowingly beautiful Lindsay Price plays Dennis’ sweet, quirky and a little scattered wife Claudia.

Speaking of our favourite genre of television sitcoms, Fox has hired Jenna Elfman to lead their upcoming new untitled sitcom in which the story is told from the point of view of Ellen (Elfman), a working mom who is in constant competition with her perfect, stay-at-home sister-in-law. Ellen constantly second guesses herself and, by extension, her husband. She worries she’s a bad mom/ wife/ daughter-in-law and often takes on more than she can handle in an effort to prove otherwise.

'THE COBBLER' TRAILER
