Or actually two movies, as Antonin Baudry's sweeping epic on the French leader has been split into two parts premiering both next summer DE GAULLE: TILTING IRON out June 10th and “De Gaulle: The Sovereign Edge” out July 3rd. The two films follow Charles De Gaulle's life and political

The first film is out in cinemas next June

 commitment between 1940 and 1945, and trace his development towards a political career. Simon Abkarian takes the lead role with Simon Russell Beale as Winston Churchill. The two part historical thriller saga is charting the French Resistance during WWII through the eyes of General Charles de Gaulle. Benoît Magimel stars as Pierre Koenig, Mathieu Kassovitz as Francois Darlan, Niels Schneider as General Leclerc, and Campbell Scott as Franklin D. Roosevelt. Today I am taking you to the tropical island of  Mauritius because we have the first poster for French historical drama movie NEITHER CHAINS NOR MASTERS (Ni chaines ni maitres) which should arrive to their cinemas September 25th

The movie should be out this September

directed and written by Simon Moutairou with French superstar Benoit Magimel in the cast. 

 

  THE STORY IS SET 

 in 1759. Isle de France (modern Mauritius). ​ Massamba (Ibrahima M'Baye) and Mati (Anna Thiandoum), slaves in the plantation of Eugène Larcenet, live in fear and toil. He dreams of his daughter being freed, to leave the green hell of sugar cane. ​One night, she flees. Madame La Victoire (Camille Cottin), a famous slave hunter, is sent to track her down. Massamba has no choice but to escape. By this act, he becomes a "brown", a fugitive who forever broke with the colonial order.

The film opens this November around Europe

After premiering and winning an award over at Cannes Film Festival as a part of the official competition historical drama THE PASSION OF DODIN BOUFFANT (La Passion de Dodin Bouffant) previously also known as La Pot Au Feu has got yet another title THE TASTE OF THINGS and also a trailer, along with the release date: after spending Autumn at film festivals around the world it will hit most of Europe during November and December with USA release date on February 9th next year. The movie has also been selected as French representative in the run for Best Foreign Movie Academy Award next year.

From this union are born dishes all more tasty and delicate than the others which go so far as to amaze the greatest of this world. However, Eugénie, eager for freedom, never wanted to marry Dodin. The latter then decides to do something he has never done before: cook for her.
