The second season starts next week

It was a successful series when it was launched at Hulu as their new Australian original about a year ago and now next week is bringing us the second season of period set series THE ARTFUL DODGER which is scheduled to arrive with new episodes this Tuesday February 10th and will again stream also on Disney Plus. As you know the series reimagines popular characters from Charles Dickens' classic "Oliver Twist" by moving them over to the penal colony of Port Victory, Australia. With Luke Bracey joining the cast as inspector Henry Boxer, Thomas Brodie-Sangster is back as Dr Jack Dawkins aka The Artful Dodger, David Thewlis as Norbert Fagin and Maia Mitchell as Lady Belle Fox. Joining the cast are also Jeremy Sims as Uncle Dickie and Zac Burgess as Phineas Golden.

 WHAT IS THE STORY OF THE SECOND SEASON?

Jack’s back! The Artful Dodger returns, and he’s in deep trouble. He’s got an appointment with the noose, he’s being hunted by Inspector Boxer, Port Victory’s new lawman, and if he sees the woman he loves, Lady Belle, he’ll be hanged.  Meanwhile, Lady Belle is determined to forge her future in medicine, defying expectation and stepping into danger, driven by ambition and a love already hanging in the balance. With Boxer competing with Jack for Belle’s affection, the crafty Fagin drags Dodger into their most dangerous heist yet, and a killer is on the loose. Get ready for an explosive season of new characters and locations with more thrills, humour, heart, invention and deception than ever. Ed Skrein will be the galactic regent

And it is an unexpected move, as Ed Skrein is actually replacing Rupert Friend in the role of a galactic tyrant in Zack Snyder's science fiction epic REBEL MOON that he is shooting for Netflix. Cleopatra Coleman, Fra Fee and Rhian Rees have also joined the rather hunky ensemble of actors that already includes Stuart Martin, Cary Elwes, Corey Stoll, Michiel Huisman, Sofia Boutella, Charlie Hunnam, Djimon Hounsou and Alfonso Herrera! The story of the new sf epic is set in a peaceful colony on the edge of the galaxy that finds itself threatened by the armies of the tyrannical Regent Balisarius, so they send a young woman (Boutella) with a mysterious past to seek out warriors from neighboring planets to help them raise a fight.
