Netflix has released first images and a short teaser from the third and final season of their historical series THE EMPRESS about Austro Hungarian empress Sisi which will stream from November 12th with   Devrim Lingnau back as kaiserin Elisabeth and Philip Froissant as kaiser Franz. After the romantic wedding of free-spirited Bavarian countess Elisabeth and Emperor Franz Joseph, life at court quickly became a golden cage for Elisabeth. The third season depicts the slow downfall of their marriage and their characters. 

 

  WHAT IS THE STORY OF THE NEW SEASON? 

After the devastating Sardinian War, Emperor Franz (Philip Froissant) returns a traumatized man. The guilt of having lost thousands of young men on the battlefield weighs heavily on him. Elisabeth (Devrim Lingnau Islamoğlu) tries to stand by him — she fights passionately for her marriage while at the same time advocating for what would now be right for the empire — yet in vain. While Franz’s infidelity further shakes the marriage, resistance at court and her own health force Elisabeth to leave Vienna and set off to a distant island to recover. By chance, the Empress meets the leader of the Hungarian revolution, Count Andrássy (Dejan Bućin), on her journey. Their encounter is immediately marked by strong intellectual and physical attraction. Almost simultaneously, Franz’s brother Maximilian (Johannes Nussbaum) sets off on a great adventure with his wife Marie (Josephine Thiesen): he is to ascend the imperial throne in far-off Mexico. In the end, Elisabeth must decide: follow her heart unconditionally, or be a sincere empress to her people.

Netflix has sent us the first images from their new movie about the famous Hunchback of Notre Dame which has French superstar Vincent Cassel in the lead role. Titled previously as  QUASIMODO it will now be known as THE HUNCHBACK, SOUL OF PARIS directed by Jean-Francois Richet, it will be set in Paris on the eve of the July Revolution (1830), and will try to reimagine the life of the man said to have inspired Victor Hugo’s iconic character, Quasimodo. As the cholera epidemic spreads through the city, he’s caught between political turmoil and an impossible love. Benjamin Voisin plays the doctor who wants to hunt down the Hunchback, Daphne Patakia takes the female lead, while Karim Leklou is leading the relentless hunt through the plague-ridden streets of Paris during the 1830 July Revolution. The film will stream November 27th!

Netflix has released a trailer for their animated movie RAY GUNN from director Brad Bird who previously did The Incredibles franchise.

Ray Gunn will stream December 18th

 The film is a blend of sci-fi and classic detective movies from the ’40s and has the story set in Metropia, a gigantic city in an alternate future as seen from 1939, where our lead character private eye Raymond Gunn is drawn into a case involving aliens, murder, and a multimedia star named Venus Nova. Coming from Skydance Animation the film will stream from December 18th but will have a December 8th limited cinema release as well.  The fight between the Russian troops under the leadership of the princes Mikhail Vorotynsky and Dmitry Khvorostinina and the army of the Crimean Khan Devleta I Gire, which also included Turkish and Nogai detachments, became one of those that will determine the future of the country. Despite the considerable numerical superiority, the Crimean Turkish army was forced to turn and run away and suffered heavy losses. NBC also has another new multi camera new sitcom Newlyweds, starring Tim Daly and Téa Leoni, which will start airing this Autumn. Hyde Pierce won four Emmy awards for his role in Frasier and he also starred recently in HBO's series on famous cook Julia Child in which he played her husband for two seasons.

Meanwhile, Willem Dafoe potrays English expedition leader Colonel John Hunt, while Caitriona Balfe will play Jill Henderson, a friend of Tenzing. Thinley Lhamo rounds out the cast as Dawa, Tenzing’s wife. The film will hit cinemas October 9th and then move to streaming October 16th.

Darren Simmonds and Jared van Berkel are directing the movie according to Deadline.
