'PARADISE HILLS' TRAILER
LONG LIVE REBELLION!
This actually looks quite good visually, if you can ignore the terrible attempts in acting from the teensy and even nonteensy cast members :) PARADISE HILLS is a Spanish fantasy drama shot in English with English
speaking cast that includes Emma Roberts, Jeremy Irving, Milla Jovovich, and it is directed by Alice Waddington in her first feature film project. Visually rich and imaginative, as you can see from the glitzy trailer below, it will be released in Spain and France this October and then in November in USA and Russia!
Paradise Hills hits streaming services this November |
Paradise Hills
is set in a mysterious boarding school which perfectly reforms wayward girls to fit their surroundings' exact desires. Emma Roberts plays Uma who awakens on an island called Paradise which takes young women and teaches them to be
proper. Led by the Duchess (Milla Jovovich), the island
provides emotional healing for those in need of it. However, behind the
fairy tale like exterior, the island hides something sinister that
threatens Uma and the other islanders.

The film has quite bad reviews which criticise the script and praise sets and costumes |
The costumes and set does look amazing. I'm not a Emma Roberts fan, so I'd probably find the acting horrible as well.
ReplyDeleteShe is such a terrible actress, just like her aunt.
DeleteAgreed, though I do love Pretty Woman. It's about the only JR movie I like. Her niece is only famous since she's riding off of her aunt's coattails.
DeleteThat the case with half of young Hollywood! I see they're now pushing Uma's and Ethan's talentless brat onto us and also the daughter of Princess Leya who was herself talentless and also a daughter of a star. Nepotism goes through generations....
DeleteJudging by the endless isolated islands with some sinister secret, and weird fantasy plots that have invaded the screen, I suspect the cinema industry is pehaps in some kind of financial or other trouble.
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid that even the young ones, for whom movie remakes and reimaginings of all sorts are made, have better things to do than to watch this stuff. But, what do I know.
The originality has died long time ago, not just in Hollywood, but also in music and books, sadly. Fashion as well!
DeleteWow, the poster is interesting, but I don't know if I will watch it, so many movies and not a lot of time, that is why I choose to watch the best ones☺
ReplyDeleteI also watch only the selection of the best ones.
DeleteWhile the costumes are fabulous (love the color!), I'm so not a Milla Jovovich fan. I think her acting is absolutely horrible. Why does everything that looks so nice have to something creepy behind it? A boarding school on an island with something sinister lurking?!
ReplyDeleteShe's always been terrible :) she and the likes of Eva Green and Kristen Stewart, that's the same type.
DeleteThe omnipresence of sinister themes in American movies and books and attitude in last ten to fifteen years probably speaks of the society which has been so overfed with violence in media that it no longer has taste for anything else and is constantly hungry for more violence. This suits the politicians as it makes the people more open to accepting real violence that their governments spread around the world. This is why your culture is so addicted to GOT, superhero movies, horrors, violent YA novels which literally breastfeed kids with death and gore... This is why 80% of my blog's content is international not American.
It's awful! While I'm a fan of some of the superhero movies, I've never been a fan of GOT or the overly gory movies. It's just uncalled for. I remember watching movies like The Sandlot and Heavyweights as a kid. Not these crazy, creepy movies. My daughters friend's the other day wanted to play Annabelle. I couldn't believe they were allowed to watch such a creepy movie at such a young age!
DeleteTerrible, some parents even dress their toddlers as horror movie characters for Halloween!
DeleteI'll probably be dragged to the cinema by my 2 youngest daughters to see this one.
ReplyDeleteOh, noes, Ray, that is your punishment for having kids :)
DeleteYikes!
ReplyDeleteIndeed!
DeleteUm...
ReplyDeleteBoom
