A BIOPIC ON CELINE DION!
While Celine Dion is currently enjoying herself over at Paris Fashion Week sporting crazy new outfits, a biopic on her life is being prepared. The big budget French language movie will see Valérie Lemercier playing the Canadian songstress in THE POWER OF LOVE which will chart Celine's life from the 1960’s to the present day and her relationship with her manager and late husband, René Angélil (to be played by Sylvain Marcel). The last of 14 children, the Canadian singer became a global superstar in the 1990s, selling more than 200M records, including hit singles The Power Of Love, Think Twice and the iconic theme song My Heart Will Go On to Titanic. Lemercier, who is half a decade older

than Celine, will also direct the movie which will feature Celine's biggest hits but Lemercier won't sing the songs in it, naturally.

The movie demonstrates a violent India, at the backdrop of a non violent Gandhi, and hard line fanatic mindsets beginning to grow roots in an India divided on the basis of religion. The feature is a story of three police officers in different parts of India, who, well aware of the intelligence that Gandhi's life in under threat, must take key decisions that would eventually either save the Mahatma, or the country.

  1. Gandhi was shot (so were Luther King, Kennedy, and others). Political assassination has reached a new peak lately with the case of the saudi dissident Khashoogi. The latter was not shot. A-15 member team beheaded him, dismembered him, severed his fingers and more..It'll probably figure on the list of best assassination movies (there's such a list) or famous political conspiracy thriller - if and when such a movie will be made.

I like the poster of Gandhi's murder. Clever design!

    1. Our first democratic prime minister Zoran Djindjic was also shot (by a shooter in front of the government building while he was leaving work) some 15 years ago, it has stopped the democratic progress of the country and we still live in squalor and political and human degradation, sadly :( I still remember that day as I was whole day long at college and was not informed what was happening only to be greeted by the shock when I came home. I still wish they killed me not him, it'd been a smaller damage for the society.

  2. I'm shocked by your last sentence. What happened to you today? Why should you say such a thing? No society is worth your sacrificing your life for it.

    1. I said it because his assassination brought unstoppable destruction to our country, his life was more significant than any other for the future of the country which now does not really exist which is why young people have been leaving the country in hundreds of thousands in recent decade.

    2. Sorry about the assassinated leader.
I understand your view, and yet I totally disagree with your "...I wish they killed me, not him, it'd been a smaller damage for the society."

It is society that damages us, not vice versa. We live in highly corrupted and evil societies.
Politicians are either corrupt and wicked or naive and stupid. I'm beginning to also have great doubts about democracy.

Young people are leaving their country everywhere in the world. In Belgrade you've got a whole village from China. In Romania, there are several empty villages as they're all gone to other countries. Young people everywhere believe in change of place bringing change of luck.

You've been given a life, respect it and cherish it, despite difficulties. Don't think too much about society or even leaders, as they don't give a damn about you.

    3. that would be all easy if our lives did not depend on those politicians. It is something us from poorer countries feel more on our skin than others, sadly. It influences our jobs, the pavements in our streets, the roads we travel, the food we can buy in the shops... everything.

  3. Don't you just get tingles whenever you look at Celine? I do! She's so mesmerizing. I listened to her on repeat all through the 90's. I'll need to brush back up on my French before seeing the film, but hopefully there will be subtitles for what I miss.

I will never understand how one could hate someone who is trying to bring peace to a nation. As Duta pointed out, leaders like Gandhi, King, Lincoln, and others who only wanted to do good and right by the people have met untimely deaths. It's such a shame we have so much hate in this world, but thankfully their words of peace and unity still resonate with those willing to listen all these years later.

    1. I'm just a bit sad that she is currently in a very bad state, healthvise, have you seen how thin she is in Paris? And that stylist that has ruined her flawless image in recent years... ugh.... We do wish her all the best, she's one of the last good people in showbusiness.

It's all about religion. India, like many other corners of the world, mine included, has had a very strong line of Muslim extremists. Watching movies on the separation of India (when it was broken into India, Pakistan and Bangladesh) is always very disturbing and reminds me very much of the fall of my Yugoslavia (in the way that West influenced it using religious hatred to stir the barrel of gun powder).

    2. She's always been thin, but even more so now. I imagine she has a lot on her plate, especially with the passing of her husband. I do hope she is able to get her health back on track. She just seems so genuine and real and down to earth, it makes me sad to see her this way.

And that is why we shun religion here. So many wars and death all done in the name of religion, yet people look at us atheists like we're the rotten ones. Some of the nicest and most giving people I know are non-believers and some of the nastiest, meanest, most spiteful people I know have their butts parked in a church pew every week. That's why invites to church will always be a fat "hell no" from me.

    3. oh, noes, you get invites to church? I pity the ones who'd send a church invite to me :) We have an older lady in the neighbourhood who is a Jehova's Witness and likes to prey on people around the block. She tried it only once with me and regretted it so much that she now flees to the other side of the street when she sees me... evil cooch.

    4. Occasionally someone from Jason's work or a family member will ask us to go. The last time I stepped foot in a church was for my sister's son. His adoptive parents (both pastors, but super cool folk) asked us to attend his baptism so I went. But to go for a sermon? No. I haven't seen a Jehova's Witness but once since we moved in here. They came like the 3rd day we moved in and I politely told them I was atheist. They looked at me like I had 5 heads, but they never came back. I must be on some black list since their friends don't come knocking either lol.

    5. I didn't tell this one I was an atheist but devil worshipper and told her I was surprised she wasn't in my lines as well since I clearly see devil speaking in her eyes. She did not know what got her. :))))

  4. The Dion film could be interesting.

As for Ghandi, that should be as well. And you're right. It's all about religion.

  5. I don't know... There's something a bit weird about playing a person who is still alive. Do you know what I mean?

    1. I'd rather Justin Timberlake plays me while I'm still here than not. Do you know what I mean? As in plays me like an instrument...
