Prime Video has released a trailer for their new mini TV series EXPATS which launches January 26th with Nicole Kidman and Jack Huston in the lead roles. Set against the vibrant and tumultuous tapestry of 2014 Hong Kong, this six episode series centers on three American women,  Margaret (Nicole Kidman), Hilary (Sarayu Blue), and Mercy (Ji Young Yoo), whose lives intersect after a sudden family tragedy. The series interrogates privilege and explores what happens when the line between victimhood and culpability becomes blurred. Brian Tee plays Margaret’s husband Clarke and Jack Huston plays Hilary’s husband David. It will open with two episodes and then continue with one each following week.

Straight from Apple TV Plus today we have first images from their new period set true crime drama MANHUNT which will put its first two episodes on offer from March 15th with Tobias Menzies in the lead role and other five will stream weekly after that every Friday. The series is a historical fiction conspiracy thriller that follows Edwin Stanton's search for John Wilkes Booth after the assassination of Abraham Lincoln, basing the story on James L. Swanson's book Manhunt: The 12-Day Chase for Lincoln's Killer. After the assassination of Abraham Lincoln (played by Hamish Linklater), his secretary of war and friend, Edwin Stanton, played by Menzies, begins the manhunt to track down John Wilkes Booth, played by Anthony Boyle, as it drives him mad. Lily Taylor plays Lincoln's wife Mary. Hope we get the first trailer soon, so stay tuned.

OLIVER JACKSON COHEN TO LEAD NEW WW2 SET MOVIE

As Variety reports Oliver Jackson Cohen and Jeremy Neumark Jones will lead new WW2 movie THE WORLD WILL TREMBLE playing prisoners who broke out of the Third Reich’s first Nazi death camp, Chelmno. Anton Lesser, Michael Fox,  Michael Epp and David Kross will also star! Of the more than 320,000 Jews sent to Chelmno, only four are known to have survived. Two of them attempted an escape to expose the truth and share the barbarity they witnessed. Lior Geller directed and wrote the film.

Netflix has sent us first images from their new historical documentary drama that will arrive to the streamer January 31st with six hourlong episodes. ALEXANDER: THE MAKING OF A GOD comes from Tony Mitchell, the show's creator and describes the life of Alexander the Great, the king of the ancient Greek kingdom of Macedon.

 SHOT LAST YEAR IN MOROCCO

this new series is combining expert interviews with gripping reenactments, and the story explores the life of Alexander the Great through his conquest of the Persian Empire. With Mido Hamada portraying Persian King Darius, crazy gorgeous and insanely charismatic Buck Braithwaite, whom you will also watch next month in Masters of the Air war series, is taking the lead role of Alexander himself. Earlier this May Paramount Plus UK has announced work on new thriller series THE CASTAWAYS with Sheridan Smith and now they have  released first trailer from the adaptation of Lucy Clarke bestseller. Sheridan Smith and Céline Buckens take the lead roles as sisters Lori and Erin Holme, with Brendan Cowell, Lasarus Ratuere and Dominic Tighe also in the cast of the five part mini series which will launch on Paramount Plus December 26th for your Christmas viewing pleasure!

Hallmark has announced that next February will be filled with Jane Austen inspired movies. Four films include PAGING MR. DARCY with Mallory Jansen and Will Kemp in which love of Jane Austen’s stories helps two people overcome their pride and admit to their belief in love. February 10th brings LOVE & JANE in which a woman finds guidance from Jane Austen, quite literally. It stars Alison Sweeney and Benjamin Ayres. AN AMERICAN IN AUSTEN follows a librarian who thinks that no man can live up to Mr. Darcy and gets an unexpected chance to find out if that’s true. Eliza Bennett, Nicholas Bishop, and Nell Barlow will star in it on February 17th. The last weekend brings sumptuously beautiful adaptation of SENSE & SENSIBLITY, starring Deborah Ayorinde, Bethany Antonia, Dan Jeannotte, and Akil Largie. I am guessing it will be period set.

Apple TV Plus is making a ten episode sf series out of Martha Wells' award winning MURDERBOT book series and have set Alexander Skarsgard as the lead! He will play a self-hacking security android who is horrified by human emotion yet drawn to its vulnerable “clients.” Murderbot must hide its free will and complete a dangerous assignment when all it really wants is to be left alone to watch futuristic soap operas and figure out its place in the universe.

Second season opens New Year at BBC One

BBC has dropped a trailer for the second season of their hit series THE TOURIST which will arrive January 1st to BBC One and will later on stream on Netflix as well from February 29th. Set against the striking backdrop of Ireland it follows Jamie Dornan’s Elliot and Helen (Danielle Macdonald) who are dragged into a longstanding feud and faced to deal with the consequences of his past actions. After Elliot quickly goes missing, Helen seeks the help of Detective Ruairi Slater (Conor MacNeill), before secrets of Elliot’s past are later uncovered. In Australia it streams on Stan, in Germany it airs on ZDF. Check out the trailer for the second season of the series below and tell us what you think!
