Well, the plot is certainly original - Eanna Hardwicke and Eddie Marsan are forced to perform a heist in order to save their family in new action thriller NO ORDINARY HEIST which will hit British cinemas March 27th directed by Colin McIvor and also starring Michelle Fairley. Inspired by an extraordinary true story, the film is set in heavily policed, post conflict Belfast following two Northern Bank workers who become pawns when a dangerous gang use tiger-kidnapping in an unorthodox, brilliant bank heist. Starz has revealed today the first official poster and trailer for their THE WHITE PRINCESS series scheduled for April 16th! The historical drama is told from the perspective of the women waging the ongoing battle for the English throne: Lizzie (Jodie Comer), Lady Margaret Beaufort (Michelle Fairley) and Dowager Queen Elizabeth Woodville (Essie Davis).

The story begins as one of England’s most politically turbulent times, The War of the Roses, is coming to an end. An uneasy peace is achieved when former King Richard III is defeated at the Battle of Bosworth, and the victor, Henry Tudor, future King Henry VII (Jacob Collins Levy), is married to Lizzie, a princess from a rival house and Richard III’s former lover.

Another costume delight for you today is exquisitely atmospheric first trailer and photos from Sofia Coppola's new period set drama THE BEGUILED,  an unusual 19th century set thriller with the ensemble cast lead by Nicole Kidman, Kirsten Dunst, Elle Fanning and Colin Farrell. To arrive into cinemas at the end of June, the movie is the big screen adaptation of Thomas Cullinan’s novel of the same name which already had its adaptations.

THE STORY OF THE BEGUILED
is set at a Virginia girls’ school in 1864 during the Civil War, The Miss Martha (Nicole Kidman) Farnsworth Seminary for Young Ladies, which has been sheltered from the outside world... that is until the day they discover a wounded Union soldier (Colin Farrell) and take it upon themselves to show him some real southern hospitality!  While imprisoned in the Confederate girls' boarding school, the injured Union soldier cons his way into each of the lonely women's hearts, causing them to turn on each other, and eventually, on him.

Tons of costume drama delight today, my spylings, as we have first photos and teasers for upcoming new period set TV shows! A few weeks ago I showed you the first teaser for THE WHITE PRINCESS series, a sequel to The White Queen but this time produced only by Starz without a help from BBC, and today you can feast your eyes on the lavish new cast photo shoot photos from the eight episode saga which will start its rule this April! As the photos show it will obviously have much better costumes than the first season which was largely criticised for historical inaccuracies and lack of any splendour.

The story begins in the aftermath of the 1485 battle of Bosworth, the final conflict in England's War of the Roses, where Henry Tudor (Jacob Collins Levy) unexpectedly defeated King Richard III to become King Henry VII. Elizabeth of York (Jodie Comer), the niece and former lover of Richard, is forced to marry Henry to unite their warring families, but the two can barely contain their disdain for one another. Newly crowned Queen of England, Elizabeth finds herself torn between loyalty to her blood relatives, placating her husband and his icy mother (Michelle Fairley) and establishing herself as a key player within the court's intricate politics.

PREDOMINANTLY FEMALE CAST

Other stars in the cast include Essie Davis as Elizabeth's mother, previous queen Elizabeth, Joanne Whalley will be Duchesss of Burgundy her aunt, and sister to dead kings Richard III and Edward IV of England, with Michelle Fairley as Margaret Beaufort, the king's mother and the calculating mastermind behind Henry's ascent to the Throne, and Suki Waterhouse as Cecily of York, jealous younger sister to Princess Elizabeth! Amy Manson is going to portray Lady Catherine Gordon, cousin to King James IV of Scotland and the love interest of “The Boy” who claims to be Prince Richard of York, rightful heir to the throne and Elizabeth’s long lost brother played by Patrick Gibson! Andrew Whipp will play Richard Pole, supporter and former soldier of Henry VII, whose marriage to Elizabeth’s cousin Margaret Plantagenet (Rebecca Benson) reinforces the alliance between the Houses of York and Lancaster under Tudor rule. Kenneth Cranham is Bishop Morton and Vincent Regan is Jasper Tudor.

Meanwhile, over at CW all is set for the fourth and final season of their popular historical saga REIGN which will bring Mary Queen of Scots' reign to end starting February 10th! In movie news, Ridley Scott has a plan of adapting S. Craig Zahler's Western novel WRAITHS OF THE BROKEN LAND into a feature movie! Together with the team with which he did THE MARTIAN, he will helm the movie set near the Mexican border at the turn of the previous century. A group of men assemble and storm across the badlands to find their captive sisters, doing anything they deem necessary to achieve their goal. Lives, ethics and sanity are imperilled during the wild, brutal struggle that ensues and nobody is safe.

MICHELLE FAIRLEY JOINS THE CAST OF THE EPIC TV SERIES
Earlier this spring I informed you that English actress Jodie Comer will play the lead role in WHITE PRINCESS epic TV series, a sequel of the BBC and Starz series WHITE QUEEN, now done only by Starz, and now GAME OF THRONES Michelle Fairley has been added to the cast!  The 8 part series tells the story of England’s War of the Roses from the perspective of the women. Michelle Fairley will play Margaret Beaufort, Henry Tudor’s mother and mastermind behind his ascent to the Throne of England. Jodie Comer's Princess Elizabeth of York comes in conflict with her after being forced into marriage with the new king Henry VII in order to unite the Houses of York and Tudor!

Meanwhile, while we wait for the BBC to show us a first trailer, here are some new photos from their TV movie adaptation of William Shakespeare's A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM in which Maxine Peake appears as Queen Titania!  Matt Lucas will appear as Bottom, John Hannah as Theseus, Eleanor Matsuura as Hippolyta and newcomer Hiran Abeysekera as Puck. Nonso Anozie is Oberon. The CGI rich project is set in the tyrannical court of Athens and the magical forest around the city filled with fairies and other mystical creatures! The movie should air some time this summer!
