Earlier this weekend I showed you photos from HBO's new sf show WESTWORLD and now we have news that Ben Barnes is the latest addition to the show which is currently recasting some of the roles. Starring  Anthony Hopkins, Ed Harris, Evan Rachel Wood, James Marsden, and Thandie Newton. Coming from J.J. Abrams and Michael Chricton, and ready to hit the small screens sometime next year, the story of WESTWORLD will be set at a futuristic amusement park in which androids play people of the Wild West without knowing that they aren't real people! It is described as a dark odyssey about the dawn of artificial consciousness and the future of sin. Ben Barnes will be Logan, a self indulgent ladies man who is a return visitor to Westworld, the character is well versed in inhaling all the pleasures that it has to offer. Clifton Collins Jr will play Lawrence, a sly criminal who really knows his way around Westworld.

Only a week or two ago I showed you the first photos from AMC's new fantasy series INTO THE BADLANDS which arrives this November, and today you can check out the rather stunning first trailer!

  The six episode series is set in a land controlled by feudal barons telling the story of a warrior named Sunny (Daniel Wu) and a young boy, M.K. (Aramis Knight), who embark on a journey across a dangerous land to find enlightenment. Marton Csokas will play Quinn, the most powerful baron in the Badlands, who spent his youth patrolling the Badlands and killing. Emily Beecham plays The Widow, a regal beauty and a cunning strategist with extravagant, high fashion taste while Sarah Bolger plays Jade, a porcelain beauty who masks her ambition with fragile innocence. Oliver Stark plays the warrior’s son Ryer who has not lived up to his father’s expectations.

According to 'Latino Review' Warner Bros. is planning on our beloved Karl Urban to take a supporting, possibly villain, role in AQUAMAN! Last year we announced that the superhero movie will have a 2018 summer release date and will star Jason Momoa in the lead role. He will probably appear first in BATMAN VS SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE and then in two JUSTICE LEAGUE movies as well. Karl Urban is doing STAR TREK 3 this year as Dr. Bones, and he has also been announced as the lead in THE WONDER fantasy adventure about a group of schoolkids who follow a rainbow that magically transports them to China, where they find themselves pursued by a mysterious organization as well as the cause of a natural disaster.

In TV news, AMC's new martial arts epic fantasy show BADLANDS has added another name into its cast. The show which will be based on the 16th century Chinese tale 'Journey to the West' following a highly skilled warrior named Sunny (Daniel Wu), who goes on a journey through dangerous land with a young boy in search of enlightenment, will see FRINGE's Orla Brady playing a Baroness and the ex-wife of gang leader who runs her domain with an iron grip! Emily Beecham plays The Widow, a regal beauty and a cunning strategist with extravagant fashion taste who has gained power the old fashioned way – she’s spilled blood for it. Sarah Bolger plays Jade, a porcelain beauty who masks her ambition with fragile innocence. Oliver Stark plays the warrior’s son Ryer who has not lived up to his father’s expectations!

'GO JERROD GO' NBC SITCOM

Meanwhile, over at NBC half hour comedy GO JERROD GO will see comedian Jerrod Carmichael and Amber West playing a young couple, Jerrod and Maxine, who decide to move in together. However, when it comes time to inform Jerrod's parents, he finds every reason in the world not to tell them.

And to bring you some cheer into the prefestive weekend, check out funny new trailer for British comedy movie BILL which explains what really happened during Shakespeare's 'Lost Years' - how hopeless lute player Bill Shakespeare leaves his family and home to follow his dreams  in London. Ready to open in UK next March the film will see "murderous kings, spies, lost loves, and a plot to blow up Queen Elizabeth". According to 'The Hollywood Reporter' the two of them will also produce, through their production companies, this small screen adaptation of Liane Moriarty's bestselling novel about three kindergarten mothers  whose seemingly perfect lives unravel to a murder mystery that takes place during a disastrous parents' night at an elementary school fund raiser.

After days of enchanting fantasy trailers, here's a grimmer one today: Jennifer Aniston's drama CAKE in which she gives, possibly Oscar worthy, portrayal of a woman who suffers from chronic pain and who begins to investigate the suicide of a fellow group member, Nina (Anna Kendrick) whom she barely knew but she keeps appearing in her dreams! These questions give her a new-found, if slightly disturbing, sense of purpose, and she unapologetically inserts herself into the lives of the husband (Sam Worthington) and son Nina left behind. But her search for answers will yield wholly unexpected results!
