SECOND SEASON ANNOUNCED OFFICIALLY
It has become Channel 4's most watched new series in half a decade and you already know that the second season will be shooting later this year after it airs in USA as well this Wednesday on BritBox, but
now we have a plot as well for the second run. Brenda Blethyn and Jessica Reynolds will again play the older and younger Emma Harte who rises from poverty to billions. In new eight episode season, she emerges from World War One and strides into the glittering, fast changing world of the 1920s. Her ambition for the Harte name is unrelenting, as is her determination to make the Fairley family pay. But she has passion to contend with, in the form of the infuriatingly charismatic Paul McGill, and she'll also endure devastating loss and face unexpected betrayals from those she holds most dear. Meanwhile in the 1970s, she battles to win back her life’s work from Jim Fairley who not only married her heiress but also will have a kid with her. Emma will have a Fairley grandchild! Oh, noes!

I always love Brenda Blethyn. The first film I watched was Saving Grace...hopefully I can get to watch this one some day.

DeleteI will have to look for this series on my library loan list, though I hear that many libraries are canceling or severely limiting one of the programs that I check out loans through. The British series are on the Hoopla app that I guess is costing libraries tons and tons of monies these days and I fear our library will axe it soon.
ReplyDeleteIt is sad how we are losing all perks we were getting earlier, we don't even get free bags in the shops anymore and even pay per delivery now has an additional bigger fee which is scandalous.
DeleteAldi is the only shop that we pay for bags here, but we can always take their boxes for free to put our groceries in if we forgot our bags or don't want to buy theirs. There are some states, like Colorado and California, that you do have to pay for plastic bags though. They say it's to reduce plastic usage, but I think it's just another way for the state to collect money from consumers on top of sales taxes.
DeleteAll our shops started charging for bags about five years ago, so you have to carry your own, it probably did reduce the plastic usage especially as according to EU laws the ones they use now have to be biodegradable.
