Rus'
of the 11th century. Grand Prince Yaroslav the Wise (Sergei Bezrukov)
marries his daughter Anna (Ekaterina Voronina) to the King of the
Franks. She views this dynastic marriage with fatalism, like all her
sisters and brothers. She faces a 3,000km long, difficult, and perilous
journey to France. Yaroslav entrusts
the leadership of Anna's cortege
and her protection along the way to the skilled warrior Ostromir (Ilya

DEZZY'S HISTORICAL LESSON
It
is interesting that the princess's cortege stretched for 600 meters and
consisted of 100 horsemen, dozens of carriages, and carts filled with
jewels
and riches. As Yaroslav's favourite child, she married King Henry I of France and became the queen and even acted as the regent ruling the country
while her son was still under aged. He will later rule the country for 48 long years as Philip I. Unusual for that age, she was literate and she even learned
French before starting the journey to France. Henry was almost twenty years older than her. Check out the first trailer below and tell us what you think.

Regina Anna è un trono di silenzi dove il destino si piega alla forza di uno sguardo.

Buongiorno, Silvia
DeleteI didn’t know this story and the trailer really made me want to watch the film. I’ve always had a weakness for this kind of historical cinema, and the atmosphere here looks huge. I loved the costumes from the little we can see in the trailer, because I’m one of those people who always pays attention to those details. The cinematography, the music, the sets… I always think there are people behind all that work, creating that part of the experience too, not just the script or the actors. And Ekaterina Voronina has a striking beauty that fits this kind of historical film perfectly. February 2027 feels so far away. My daily hug.
ReplyDeleteIt is a lesser know story even for the Russians. They usually shoot series and films about times from previous two or three centuries, they rarely go into the deeper past, so this is a surprise for many of them as well.
DeleteYou are right, productions of historical movies and shows usually have experts on the set to show actors how to carry themselves, how to walk in those costumes and move, how to talk, even smile etc. You have to transform your hole body posture to fit the era the film is set in.
Returning the hug.
That sounds like a very compelling historical drama concept — Queen Anna (Anna Yaroslavna) is a fascinating figure, moving from Kievan Rus’ into the French royal court in the 11th century. Stories centered on her life often highlight diplomacy, cultural transition, and the political dynamics between Eastern Europe and medieval France, which can make for a rich cinematic setting.
ReplyDeleteIf you’re referring to a trailer announcement, it would likely be focusing on that contrast between her origins as a Russian princess and her role as Queen of France, set against the backdrop of medieval power structures and court life.

DeleteIt does look epic! Great costumes!
ReplyDeleteSlavic medieval outfits were quite gorgeous.
DeleteShe looks gorgeous! And I love costumes.
ReplyDeleteVoronina is very pretty.
DeleteLovely costumes!
ReplyDeleteGlad you like them.
DeleteHello, Dezmond! I hope to see this movie in 2027. I watched the old Soviet film "Anne, Queen of France" many, many years ago. These films are based on real events.
ReplyDeleteI remember the old one but I have never seen it myself.
DeleteI'm just sitting here jealous over her smooth skin. Some people are just blessed. I would not be one of them LOL
ReplyDeleteRussians eat a lot of fruit and fermented products good for the skin and bowel health as well.
DeleteIt also helps that they probably don't poison their fruits and vegetables like the US does.
DeleteThey do not, everything is natural there, they respect the nature and take medicines from it not from labs. They also have a great love for all kinds of grains and there is nothing better for the skin than E and D vitamin rich grains.
DeleteI'm always reminded of how Allison's foreign exchange student friend from Spain came here with clear, smooth skin. After 9 months on the American diet, his face looked like pure hell with all of the breakouts. Cleared right back up as soon as he was back home. They wonder why younger people here are getting diagnosed with colon cancer at alarming rates when it used to be known as an old man disease. As long as big pharma is allowed to run this country, our food will continue to poison us so the drug companies can keep raking in money hand over fist. I truly hate it here.
DeleteYes, you need to outlaw industrial and refined food even though it would cause terrible riots LOL God forbid that some of the fat hillbillies would cook their own food at home.... It is tastier to eat rubbish that kills you... I am now at about 99% industrial food free rate diet, I only use sweetener in the morning and that is it, the rest is all natural food that I make myself.
DeleteThere's a huge different in desire too when you give that processed shit up. Jason pointed out some Little Debbie snack cakes the other day and I was like those don't even sound good at all. I had one around Valentine's Day and could just taste the chemicals and dryness packed in. Now, I'm still weaning myself away from it all, but they'll have to pry my Lindor Truffles from my cold dead hands. It's the one sweet I refuse to give up.
DeleteIt is true, some time after quitting sugar your body does not want it anymore. I ate two little chocolates two weeks ago that I wanted to send to you last holidays LOL and I realised they are still in the box and will go bad, and I cannot say I enjoyed them as much as I would have five years ago. Good thing we were always too poor for Lindor and truffles so I cannot miss what I never ate LOL I did buy ten Milkas to send to my new publisher as a gift, and had to explain to my smuggler they were not for me LOL
