Dream Works has released the first teaser for their live action movie version of HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON in which Mason Thames and Nico Parker will be the lead stars in the roles of Hiccup and Astrid with Gerard Butler (who is quite unrecognisable in the teaser) as his father Stoick! The movie follows a young Viking as he aspires to hunt dragons, and how he becomes unexpectedly a friend of a young dragon. With Dean DeBlois directing, writing and producing, the movie should fly into cinemas June 13th, 2025
drawing audiences deep into the imaginative lore. Three super popular
animated films have grossed over $1.6 billion around the world. Nick Frost will also star.
At least Toothless is cute. Wish they would have picked someone with a larger frame for the dad. I never would have imagined Gerard as a Viking king, but here we are.
He does and he has a great voice for it, but the height and build aren't what I would have imagined for the character. I'm sure they could have found a built Scottish hunk to fill the role. But I do like Gerard, so I won't completely count him out for this one.

My daughter was saying she wants to see this with my grandson.
ReplyDeleteThe teaser did not show us much.

ReplyDeleteGerard played the part in the animated films as well, so there is that.

DeleteI do like Gerard in this role and would not replace him with anyone LOL especially after he admitted to being bisexual, such a lovely guy.
