After the success of first three seasons of the series on Catherine the Great, titled Ekaterina, Ekaterina: Impostors and Ekaterina: The Rise, Russian television is preparing the fourth season as well, this time titled EKATERINA: THE FAVOURITES (Екатерина. Фавориты) in which Marina Aleksadrova again takes the imperial role which has been hers for the eighth year now. Ekaterina Dashkova is played by Anna Kovalchuk, the roles of the
empress' opponents - Count Alexander Stroganov and book publisher Nikolai Novikov are performed by Dmitry Astrakhan and Alexey Kolgan, while
lovers or the favorites of Catherine II are played by Sergei Novosad, Stanislav Tikunov, Dmitry Gudochkin. The series started streaming its

Catherine II the Great at the instigation of her closest associate, the
influential Princess Dashkova. His 
Serene Highness Prince Potemkin, the
former favorite and married husband of Catherine, remains a faithful
comrade-in-arms and, in fact, the second 
person in the state. The
personal life of the empress, as before, is full of passions and love
affairs. However, despite everything, Catherine does not 
forget about
important state affairs. Among them is a manifesto on succession to the
throne. The Empress decides to transfer the throne to her grandson 
Alexander, bypassing the legal heir - her son Pavel. However, the
Tsarevich is not going to give up his rights and will fight to the end! A
new struggle for 
power begins. As you know from your history lessons, her son took over the power, but lasted very short and was succedeed by Alexander who became one of Russia's biggest rulers thanks to grandmother's teachings.
