BBC has released a new trailer for their upcoming period set series SAS ROGUE HEROES coming from Steven Knight. The six-part series stars Connor Swindells, Jack O'Connell, Alfie Allen, Sofia Boutella, and Dominic West, in a dramatised account of how the SAS was formed under extraordinary circumstances in the darkest days of World War Two. Cairo, 1941. David Stirling (Swindells), an eccentric young officer, hospitalised after a training exercise went wrong, is bored. Convinced that traditional commando units don’t work, he creates a radical plan that flies in the face of all accepted rules of modern warfare. He fights for permission to recruit the toughest, boldest and brightest soldiers for a small undercover unit that will create mayhem behind enemy lines. More rebels than soldiers, Stirling’s team are every bit as complicated, flawed and reckless as they are astonishingly brave and heroic. The series starts October 30th on BBC One.

First trailer has been released for the big screen adaptation of Denis Johnson's novel STARS AT NOON which will hit cinemas October 14th starring Joe Alwyn and Margaret Qualley. This year Cannes Film Festival competitor, follows a young American journalist (Qualley), who falls for a mysterious Englishman (Alwyn) while stranded in Nicaragua (not during the revolution like in the novel, but during today's covid outbreak). Though at first he seems like her best bet at getting out of the country, it is slowly revealed that her affiliation with the Englishman has put both of them in immense danger. Claire Denis took the helm of this one. Check out the trailer below:

My Salinger Year opened this year's Berlinale
Two trailers for you this weekend while Tinseltown is sleeping. MY SALINGER YEAR written and directed by Philippe Falardeau and based on a book by Joanna Smith Rakoff, should be out in Canada October 23rd and parts of Europe this November after opening this year's Berlinale. Starring Sigourney Weaver, Margaret Qualley, Douglas Booth and Colm Feore, it is set In New York City's late nineties, revolving around a young aspiring writer who lands a clerical day-job at J.D. Salinger's literary agency. While her eccentric and old fashioned boss tasks her to process Salinger's voluminous fan mail, she struggles to find her own voice.
