LUKE EVANS TO LEAD
MALAYA SET EMERGENCY TV SERIES
And Luke Evans will not only star but also executive produce six part series EMERGENCY set in the dark days of the Malayan Emergency of 1951. Based on true events, it is told from three perspectives: a female Malayan Chinese guerilla fighter for the
Communist Terrorists (CTs) trying to overthrow the British; a conflicted young Malay policeman who’s charged with infiltrating the Communist ranks and the British army officer he reports to, a man with his own demons but who’s seeking a dramatically different route to end the conflict.
Luke Evans will play Brigadier ‘Mad’ Mike Calvert, the closeted homosexual and highly controversial British commander in charge of the elite Malayan Scouts, leading the military response against the CTs. He ventures deep into the jungle, spending time understanding the rural communities that protect the enemy. But with the Communist cell closing in, he finds himself in a dramatic race against time to protect his men and win over ordinary citizens before the British deploy a new secret weapon – the herbicide which will later be known as Agent Orange.

Agent Orange was some bad stuff. This sounds interesting.
ReplyDeleteIt does sound like it was a terrible ordeal.
DeleteDon't think I have ever watched anything led by him...look forward to the first trailer!
ReplyDeleteYou should see his Dracula movie, it was quite nice.
DeleteI forgot all about Agent Orange. My stepdad was exposed to it during the Vietnam War. Too bad it didn't kill him off back then. If anyone would have deserved it, it would have been him.
ReplyDeleteBet the bastard killed some poor Asians down there.
DeleteI have no doubt that he did. He killed animals and tried to kill my mom several times. If there is such a thing as hell, I'm sure he's smack dab in the middle of it.
DeleteToo bad the Vietnamese did not end his life down there.
DeleteToo bad, indeed!
