HANS CHRISTIAN ANDERSEN
MUSICAL WITH ANSEL ELGORT?
The studios apparently battled over the project |
The musical fantasy will feature original music from Wicked's Stephen
Schwartz and will, as 'Deadline' reports, follow Andersen who as a
young man gets trapped in a world of his own imagination. As he searches
for a way back to reality, he comes face-to-face with characters from
his own fairy tales, nearly all of whom try to trap him in their world
forever. The project is planned as a potential musical movie franchise.
Life of Pi's David Magee is penning the script! The studio apparently
paid a seven digit sum for the pitch.
FIRST 'YELLOWSTONE' TEASER
STARRING KEVIN COSTNER!
Yellowstone starts this summer June 20th |
It follows John Dutton, who controls the largest contiguous ranch in
USA, under constant attack by those it borders — land developers, an
Indian reservation, and America’s first National Park. It is an intense
study of a violent world far from media scrutiny where land grabs make
developers billions, and politicians are bought and sold by the world’s
largest oil and lumber corporations. Where drinking water poisoned by
fracking wells and unsolved murders are not news: they are a consequence
of living in the new frontier. It is the best and worst of America seen
through the eyes of a family that represents both.
Both sound like they have some potential!

DeleteI don't think I'm keen on a musical if that's the route they take.
ReplyDeleteYellowstone will be a must see for us. As soon as Jason catches wind of it, he'll insist. The cast does sound pretty stellar!
Hope it won't be overly boring, but it is being produced by the same people who did that borefest Chicago... as long as Rob Marshall isn't directing....
DeleteChicago was boring! At least it will be nice to catch a nap if it is ;)
Deletetrue that
DeleteAha! A violent world where politicians are bought... Maybe we should become politcians, too, Dezzz. What say you?
ReplyDeleteWell, I'm whorish enough already... and can be bought for meagre amounts of monies....
DeleteSounds like a compelling series. Good for Kevin.
ReplyDeletewe haven't seen him much lately, they got a lot of underrated actors for the cast
