ARRIVES THIS AUTUMN

Two of our favourite HBO shows are finally coming back and beside Gilded Age which returns October 29th, JULIA is also coming back with season two but November 16th when it will premiere with three new episodes and other five will air weekly till late December. Sarah Lancashire is back as the acclaimed chef Julia Child and David Hyde Pierce as her husband, Paul as you can see in the first trailer today. For the viewers in UK the series will again air on Sky and on Foxtel in Australia.

 

IN THE SECOND SEASON

first three episodes will be set in Paris and the French Riviera while Julia grapples with her rising fame and celebrity with her show up and running on the air, and with a weekly cooking program virtually unheard of at the time. After spending some much needed time in France while preparing for her second season of her cooking show The French Chef, Julia visits a wide variety of renowned restaurants and chefs across both the South of France and the U.S in Washington D.C. and of course, Boston. Social issues prevalent in today’s social landscape are mirrored in Julia’s journey as she and her team spearhead female-driven public television.

 WHO IS IN THE CAST?

Also back in the cast are Bebe Neuwirth, Brittany Bradford, Fran Kranz, Fiona Glascott and Robert Joy while Rachel Bloom will join the series in the recurring role of Elaine Levitch, a dynamo who comes to WGBH by way of CBS to work with Julia on The French Chef. Stockard Channing, Craig Bierko, Judith Light, Isabella Rossellini, Tosin Morohunfola and Christian Clemenson all have guest roles in the new season. It has been a year and a half since the first season aired in spring 2022. They have used a real 1,000 years old market in France to shoot the scenes where Julia is shopping for groceries while on the trip there.

Set just as WWII draws to a close, the film will chart how a brief encounter leads to a love affair that ignites a dormant passion in a lonely farmer’s wife and an American GI. With the world around them conspiring against their relationship, it’s not long before the realities of their existence force them to make a very difficult decision. Timothy Spall is producing.

The film should arrive next year at the anniversary of British NHS. When the geriatric ward of a small Yorkshire hospital is threatened with closure, the hospital decides to fight back by galvanizing the local community. They invite a news crew to film their preparations for a concert in honour of the hospital’s most distinguished nurse. What could go wrong? ALLELUJAH celebrates the spirit of the elderly patients whilst paying tribute to the deep humanity of the medical staff battling with limited resources and ever-growing demand. But in the midst of the tears and the laughter, we slowly realise that there is something threatening the hospital that is far more lethal than the politicians demanding efficiency at any cost…

Although we are still not shocked but scandalised and disgusted that HBO's Julia Child series JULIA did not score any Emmy nominations, not even Sarah Lanchashire for the lead, while some Korean garbage and other undeserving trash did, we are looking forward to the second season which has just cast Rachel Bloom. She will have a recurring role as Elaine Levitch, a dynamo who comes to WGBH by way of CBS to work with Julia on ‘The French Chef.'

Coming from Pierre Pinaud, it sees Catherine Frot playing Eve who is one of France's greatest artisanal horticulturalists, but her rose business is business facing imminent bankruptcy or liquidation. When her secretary hires three inexperienced ex-convicts without any gardening skills, they must team up to rescue the business in this verdant comedy. The film already played last yer in most European cinemas.
