UKTV NEW DRAMA SERIES GETS AIR DATE

Murder mystery starts this April on Alibi

UKTV has announced Wednesday, April 23rd as the start date for their new six episode mini series I, JACK WRIGHT on their special crime drama channel Alibi. It will also stream at some point later on at BritBox for viewers in USA,  on RTBF in Belgium, SVT in Sweden, RUV in Iceland, NRK in Norway, DR in Denmark and YLE in Finland. WHAT'S THE STORY 

Jack Wright (Trevor Eve) is a powerful and successful businessman, who leaves his family in disarray when they learn of his suicide. When the provisions of Jack’s final will and testament are made known, his third wife, Sally (Nikki Amuka-Bird), and two sons, Gray (John Simm) and John (Daniel Rigby), are shocked to discover they have been largely cut out of Jack’s enormous fortune. As DCI Morgan (Harry Lloyd) and DC Jones (Liz Kingsman) delve further into the case, they realise Jack’s cause of death was in fact murder. Their sights turn to the Wright family, where the mother of all feuds is beginning. As each family member becomes more reckless and desperate in their bid to own a piece of Jack’s legacy, dark secrets and resentments are revealed with explosive consequences. Gemma Jones stars as Rose Wright. This new series is a propulsive, darkly comic and moving murder mystery family drama which offers many twists and turns as one family deals with treachery and hidden agendas from all involved.

Returning as soon as next month, June 14th, to Alibi Channel in UK with the second season is MISS SCARLET AND THE DUKE period set detective series which will also air on PBS in USA October 16th. Starring our boy Stuart Martin and Kate Philips, the second series, shot in Serbian capital Belgrade, picks up one month on from the end of the previous series. Eliza has solved her father‘s murder, her relationship with William, the Duke, continues to slowly simmer, and Eliza continues to face the challenges of being a professional female detective in Victorian London. Eliza is hired by the sister of a missing woman for her first case this series. Her task is to find the woman, but the case was already closed by the police, so tension between Eliza and the Duke ensues. Beside Epic Drama cable channels around Europe, the six episode series will also air on BBC First in Benelux and BBC Brit in Africa.
